I abuse the hell out of Substrate's bombers whenever I can. They have incredible range and I can just sit back and take down enemy strongholds without much problem from miles off.
Mered4
My god. I expect that upon building 5-6 of these long range mobile flak cannons that they would stop ONE fighter squad. Nerp. They do absolutely nothing. What the HELL is the point of building them if they are so worthless? If I'm missing something, please, let me know. Because my experience with these disgusting little things is that they are not worth the metal. They need buffed imho.
PA has every single one of these characteristics and global maps. I hate to break up the circlejerk, but Ashes has a long way to go before it becomes anywhere close to the best RTS of the year. You want to see an AI that can adapt to a changing situation without pulling resources that don't exist? Manage multiple maps with an apm limit? Play against PA's hardest AI. When your AI can beat that, you can claim best AI :)
Spaghetti Gandalf is an old friend of mine from PA. He's got quite the ego and likes to climb ladders for the hell of it. Solid player, but he has his...weaknesses. :)
I think you should go play TA. The UI, pacing, and depth don't hold up as well as you might think.
There's a really good reason Balanced Annihilation and ZeroK exist. TA isn't that great when it comes to balance or UI lol.
Turning MSAA off fixed this issue for me.
We are still exploring this. Can you post your DXDiag (type DXDiag) so we can look at your video card settings?
http://pastebin.com/YvDNC57C There you are :)
see my response.
It seems to have worked. I'll let you know if anything changes.
Here's Rofls and I testing out some Substrate :)
What? WHY? oh right. In 1v1s this wont matter all that much, but in FFAs and team games it will add some weird/interesting dynamic to the gameplay. Could you make it more obvious that this isn't a bug or something?
I managed to both cheat the zoom and break my own faction in the same game! :D Basically, I had a couple thousand units, lost my front line due to careless play, and my core exploded. Suddenly I found myself without any income, defenses, or radar, but my units were still there and I could still use them. Almost took out the AI that killed me with the ten dreads I had. :D
Okay, lets say it's not a strategic choice whether you go for them...you must. There is strategic choice that exists by their presence, though: win by VP or win by annihilation? Intentionally lose the fight for one VP, so the other player effectively overcommits while you flank and take out their Nexus, a good chunk of their economy, or other Turinium nodes. You say it's pure math, but Sun Tzu would argue with that. You might be
I have the same issue, it is NOT a driver issue. Can confirm :)
Yeah, I don't see TP that way. To me, Turinium nodes are THE primary objective of this game, even more-so than destroying the enemy base. Players should be fighting for control over them above all else. Not only are they the primary victory condition, each one you own gives you an econ boost. If folks start considering them objectives and not just gimmicks, the genre can finally progress beyond the SupCom era.
To....
@mered4 That's why Victory Points (Turinium generators) are a thing. So you can't just sit back and turtle. If you're playing a custom with them off though, then yeah I could see some large, long games becoming unplayable stalemates, at least until they introduce experimental/titan style units at some point down the road.
It just kinda feels like TPs are a gimmick intended to replac

Kazz, its not a driver issue. I've been able to repro it successfully. If any army uses blue or cyan, I have this issue. If not, it goes back to normal.
One more thing I'd like to add: The eco bars for metal and rsds are not accurate representation of your actual income. I've been down to -44 metal/tick and still have over 500 metal in storage. When looking at the expenses/income tab, it also comes out to -44. Something is missing here. It also only happens later in the game.

Basically I start a SP game in either DX12 or normal modes, and everything but the UI is tinted a deep purple. It's still playable but it's really annoying. Happens on all maps, but it is harder to see on Ice maps. I have updated my drivers and my monitor is just fine. I can post the logs from the Stardock log tool if necessary.
Camera movement is heavily connected to your framerate. I had a similar issue until I toned down my graphics.
Gentlemen - Here's a few things that myself and a few other regular RTS players have found grating with the interface and unit handling. First, its really difficult to tell the range of defensive structures while placing them. Could we get an overlay as to their range (similar to PA or SupCom) that is both accurate and adjusts to terrain? A similar overlay for radar would be nice too. :) Factories need a stop and pause command desperately
