Congrats, Brad. You guys just got Ashes to 1.0! Escalation brought in some extremely basic features that should have been in the game from the start, like the Strategic Map and larger map types. That's about where the rosiness ends, though. I still can't tell engineers easily apart from other units on the strategic map, and the Idle Engineers function doesn't cover engineers with a queue. Bombers are once again stupidly deadly and
TBH, I don't think that you can say Ashes needs time when Stellaris is about to blow everyone else out of the water in sales Me thinks you don't know what Stellaris is. It's EU in space, Mered.
True. It is in the RTS category, still. It isn't nearly the same as Ashes or SupCom or whichever, but it proves the R
Here's a thought: Every RTS you just listed (Starcraft excluded because it's so lame it never reaches this point) becomes an absolute mess in the lategame on massive maps. Ashes is a nightmare to manage logistically due to the lack of tools available on a large scale (area commands ftw). It's much, much easier than everything excluding PA, however. SupCom stagnates unless the players on each side are near perfectly balanc
Quoting Mered4, reply 2 I agree with the OP. Of course you do.
Whoa, Froggy. Don't get all....Froggy. :P
I agree with the OP.
Frogboy, we had this same problem in PA for a little while. People thought there should be other strats (and there are), but the first one that worked was rapid expansion. Maybe we should give time for the meta to develop before throwing it to the wind?
Lol. Frogboy, one of the keys to good rapid expansion is to have factories sending a steady stream of units to every corner of the map. Adding weird raiding units with no counters won't help things. Players need to learn how to to defend against rapid expansion and fight on multiple fronts. Changing thenmeta too fast won't give them time to practice.
Just give each army a coordinate tracker and compare those coordinates to the factories. Sort from shortest -> longest distance and prioritize from there.
That, or they could just program the auto reinforcement mechanic to grab units from the nearest factories.
Greetings! I am checking the road map here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/228880/discussions/1/490123938434377747/ I am throughly enjoying the game so far, but have noticed a few gameplay issues, which i find a bit perculiar. Maybe im being a bit newbie but, where is the ping function? Also are there going to be any air based dreadnaughts? Where are the Gunships? More things to build that cost pure
muffin I;ve just watched you yesterday on stream getting destroyed by a drone launcher. basically you lost 3 min to kill one drone tower and you had 4000 to 1000 score and map control advantage. A little bit later I have watched your army getting slaughtered by another drone tower long enough to be face rushed by maulers. that was basically a lost game. So drone tower is not ok. by far
<p
What is up with substrate turrets? I have walked with almost 200 pop in tier 1 units and got wiped by couple of fast turrets with drone launchers? One chokepoint with drone is enough to defend vs a 3 to 1 ratio and the big problem is that they can target artemis rocket artilery. I dont recall phc to have such a big impact.
The drone launcher is literally the only artillery the Substrate have. The Destructor is *sor
There shouldn't be any cloaking. Are you able to replicate this issue, if so it would be a good to get some screenshots or even better video of the issue. If units are not in direct line of sight (hill in the way) then they should not be visible. Radar cannot see around corners or through hills so shouldn't either. It is recommended to use aerial support as scouts to aid in detecting uni
Ever since someone woke this thread up saying the game needs a warning that is doesn't support SupCom zoom levels it has just been very silly, putting it politely. To be honest that suggestion was so silly it shouldn't have warranted a comment from the Dev in the first place. It has been a long time since the Devs have put their foot down about the zoom level so this is a useless rehashing of old ground.
Quoting Mered4, reply 14 What the hell do you mean? He means it (zoom) would not be awesome in Ashes (this context), and it wouldn't. It's not the kind of pace of game where you need to be zooming out and shuffling icons around. It would n

Yeah, but it can only kill one unit every couple secconds. In the meantime, it's getting pummeled by other units.
Some people do crash more than others. If he is not already I suggest he definitely use DX11 as DX12 is much more sensitive to other things running on the system. Here is a bit from Frogboy's most recent post: Ashes of the Singularity is crashing on me! How can it almost be done? I have some good news and some bad news on that front. I played three games yesterday with two other friends of mine and we crashed each and every time. All three of us have updated drivers. The cràsh have no warning - one second it was there, the next I was looking at my desktop. I have this happen during AI games too, but less frequently than multiplayer.
If you find yourself facing lots of defenses (basically any time at all late game), just spam Arty or Destructors. TBH, you could get away with spamming both of those almost exclusively (less so for substrate) after certain times in the game. The units are just so good at long range murder.
