Reading through the journals, I came across BoogieBac's best of best for the week. One thing that was mentioned was the different scanning techs that would be available. Now while there was a scanning tech available in GC1, Ican't think of any game where I acutally used it, especially since the AI knew where all the Class 15+ worlds existed. Based on what I read on the journal, there will actually be various degrees of planets. I see planets
I whole-hartedly agree on this one....
Nothing to add here except that I like it.
hen a planet/homeworld/civilization is taken over it lets loose the native space worms living in the planet (destroy the civilization, your prize, a nasty mess of space worms)
Even so, I didn't add them to the file. And obviously, none of the mod techs were added.
Oh yeah, all the logistics techs. I forgot all about those...
Yeah, I haven't upgraded it to AP yet. How many additional techs are there in AP anyway? There really can't be that many? If not, I'll get it updated and repost.
I've got an excel copy of the tech tree at: http://www.kingwoodcable.com/brackard/games/galcivtech.xls [Message Edited]
If you download stardock central again, there's an option there of having them resend your serial #'s via your e-mail (if I'm not mistaken?)
That's actually a good point though. For someone who has finally made thier way up to maso difficulty, they shouldn't be penalized for taking that long because they did make it. Maybe they should make it the average of the last 20, 30, 50 games or so.
I've always played a 100% ratio game. I guess I'll have to try some other ratios to see what works. :)
Hey Newfy, out of curiosity, why would you do a partial spending ratio? I am FAR from the best at this game (far, far, far...) but let's take an example. You have two projects, social/military. Let's say the Social project gives you 25% to manufacturing. By not moving ahead 100% with the manu upgrade, you lose out on the % you would have gained by going 100%. If it took you 20 turns at 70% and 15 turns at 100%, those 5 turns of the extra production are lost. This goes many differen
A 100% spending ration on whatever you are spending on (unless you have <1 turn left on a project), is actually more beneficial than a partial spending plan. Granted, the %'s are small in efficiency gain, but they are there and in the long run, can really add up.
One of the biggest problems I had was scrambling around the tech tree. I basically got to a point where I had to go back and re-create the tech tree. This might help you out: http://www.kingwoodcable.com/brackard/games/galcivtech.xls
Pre order? Bah! Where is my 2 year signup for TGN?
I really like Dancer's idea. A difficulty regarding exactly WHAT the computer will do, and a difficulty regarding how much "cheat" the computer gets. I may not be able the best strategist, but I'd love to see the comp try some of the better moves without having the +x% production that goes along with the increased production.
I had the same problem. I redownloaded SDC and reinstalled. No problems thereafter.
Whoa, who resurrected this thread from the grave? :p Moo3? It had a too few many issues for me.
If you build it, they will come.
I think he was just warming up.
I think you can be mostly dead and still qualify.
I'll see what I can do with it next turn. (just to see how much it costs) However, we are in a position where the diplo translator may not necessarily mean all that much if you know what I mean. I'm sure it will be nice bonus, and I'm sure we will end up getting it as part of a peace negotiations in there somewhere. :)
Hey, Tylertoo is still around! (never mind I responded earlier and didn't notice.) I'm glad Bam-Bam didn't scare you away. If you need any help, let us know and somebody will be glad to help. :)
When you're talking about classics, JA is Jagged Alliance.
