@ Dr.NoChance Full support for your 3 ideas. As an alternative to your 2. Why not make the impact on taxes immeadtly but the higher morale scales only slowly up? It is quite cheesy to kill, sell or send half your population to new planets to make your people happy. I would like to see the morale ffect of population scaled down. Why not have other influences temporal influences on morale: Staring a war, loosing worlds/colony ships, killing enemy flagship,

@bonkku. Have you compared the build time for military projects with 50% bonus and without? I personally never look at the beaker itself but have the impression that the bonuses work nontheless.
Hi Wendy, http://apolyton.net/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=81848 I hope this one helps to make up your mind... You should take a look around for older posts on this topic /pre -release
Well, you could wait for the demo.... On the other hand there are a quite few people around who posted that they were playing with 350-500 MHZ. It seems as long as you have enough RAM and don´t want to play the largest galaxy it is fine. You could take a look yourself although at apolyton.com there is a thread dedicated at this topic.
On the other hand I think you should pay a hefty amount of money to upkeep a starbase => Replacemnt parts, food has to be imported etc.. In game mechanics perhaps we would see a lot fewer starbases and perhaps the AI could learn to defend its most valuable starbases a liite bit more? ;)
Would it be possible to do an "sticky thread" only for from the devs, where you can look up what is the latest patch / game version?
I think this issue will need many careful small dadjustments simply not to exterminate the fun of trading items on the other hand not te useful as a tool to cripple the AI
I am a little bit worried that there are some players already claiming to win the game in "gigantic map" all computer set to genius! Would be interessting to know how they do it, working through loopholes......
@james temple I thought the actual update is/should only be 1MB!!!! Though as far as I am concerned there are still some issues to sort out.
Hi Arno, I agree it is stupid "german law". I believed it is important for Stardock / Strategy First to be aware of this kind of regulations in Germany because it can/will hurt their sales. It forces retailers / online shops not to even to avertise or sale the import version of the game. I don´t know exactly what they have to do to no fall under this rules. It could be something as simple as putting an PG-6 year old rating on the box.
Asking myself the same some time now....
Oh, stardock I knew it. Your game is as dangerous as I thought! There is a new legislation in place here in germany since 1st. of april regarding what is dangerous for kids. Though Okaysoft.de moved GalCiv to their area of games which are only available for people above 18+ years. :(
Hi Rojonia, perhaps it helps go to metaverse and there to the simulator it calculates possibilities to win a battle for different ship designs.
Hi Yin (taking a trip over here from apolyton? ;) ) Frogboy stated earlier on, that only mayor patches would be the "usual save and carry zipfiles". Though you will need SDC to do all the small updates on the games if you won´t like to wait until they are collected for a mayor update.
Nice idea Astromarine. Will give it a try.
1. Build transports invade the planet as soon as it is taken over... 2. Leave the colony 3. If you love to fight and your military is doing nothing only drinking awy their money ... Well do nothing and observe when the warning pops up.
'Erm, I'm of the impression that if you crank Espionage enough when the first "wacky cult looking for an orb" event you can catch it before the Precursors appear. Is this not so?' That is the case for that event (the Dark Anor), but not for the Draginol. You do still get a warning, and the planet can simply be invaded the first turn after it's taken over if you prepare for it like arturus magi explained. If you don´t like to spend money espinage.. sorry your problem when there
Please, don´t "tone down" simply the random events. I love it when a really difficult random event happens. It is like in Sifi-Books- They dominated the galaxy until.....( Historians picked up the remains of the human empire 1000 year later).... Suggestions: 1. Put in an slider for random events: 1. no events 2. few 3. normal 4. many 2. Put in a slider for the difficulty of events: 1. puny (I like the screens but they won´t have an impac
Some ideas: 1. sell the population as slaves to other empires... (Evil only ....) Increased production for the buyer, money for you 2. new galactic wonder: The ringworld project (artificial world). MASSIVE ammounts of money and resources have to be spend to build this wonder. Afterwards excess population is send there. Population stays at an optimal level.) This new world is political neutral / independent.
1. I would like to see some penalties/costs to contact other civs. I think it is really annoying and to simple to work as a tech trader => perhaps create for some costs a small ambassor ship which travels to the nearest alien world? (You could even intercept such ships etc.) 2. minor races give way to much money for techs etc put in an option to reduce it?
Hi, just curious, after MOO3 came out, the IG forum turned into a "Flame-Forum" . But I am surprised that up to now nobody complained actually about the gameplay or the game itself. Is this game so0000 GOOOOD?
;) Look at the top of the forums.... there is a thread called suggestions
How about a "sticky" thread where people can post their first impressions /reviews and opinion of the game? Right now if there are these threads they get burried fast by (I have download problems :/§$%)kind of threads. Thanks!
