Aye, it'd be great if there's some better detail in the foreign screen, possibly color coded -- blue for shared techs, red for what they have that I don't, and green for what I have that they don't.

I bought the game expecting, eventually, multiplayer would be added, like what every. other. turn-based strategy game had. I knew GC1 didn't have it, but, honestly, that game was fairly ghetto in a few areas but spectacular in others (beyond MOO3 as far as I was concerned). It would be lose-lose for Stardock if they spent resources on multiplayer and tried to sell it as a single-feature expansion to appease the rabid anti-MP crowd, from a simple economic and marketing point of view. As

Yes on multiplayer. This community is rather insular and I'm not surprised internal polling didn't turn up big pro-multiplayer figures, particularly after the devs relished pooping all over the idea ("Well, if we implemented multiplayer, we wouldn't be able to program game saving/loading!", or whatever the nonsense was). Don't know how many others who were very interested in multiplayer have stuck around with the community after all this time. I know I almost never post or play anymore

I also feel that they're rarely worth the space that other improvements could use. I'd love for them to be upgrades to the Starport tile. Expensive upgrades maybe, and/or preclude the port's use for making more ships while the upgrade is in progress.

Are those three small ship icons (show all) (show equipment) (show jewelry) ? If so, Excellent. If not, a way to filter out jewelry from the mod listing would be neat.

"The product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID don't match." I recently had my powersupply go bad and burn out part of my mainboard. After installing new equipment, I was locked out of Windows XP (SP2) and had to delete the Windows directory and re-install (stupid admin password). All my files on all partitions were preserved, but couldn't be run due to not having been entered into the Windows re

All I know is that the Torians have erected no less than six - SIX - influence starbases inside my sphere-of-influence, all within a half-dozen tiles of my Technology capital. They're an ally. I'd go to war with them just to get rid of the station spam, but they're my #1 trading partner and I'd rather not take a 500bc/turn hit.

I had a similar issue -- I would get an error about my serial number when I tried updating my multimedia from the Beta versions in Stardock (even though GalCiv II updated to retail just fine). I merely uninstalled the multimedia files from the Stardock menu, and re-downloaded them. Uninstall your extra folders, get rid of whatever archives you made of them, and re-download from scratch.

- the first Endorsement option is blank; when it's selected, there's a weird number showing up in the 'cost' field - If your awareness penetration in a state is 100%, you only see "10" - Maybe this was a paradoy of the O'Reilly factor, but I seemed to have gotten temporarily stuck in a question loop. #6 seems to be a common theme in Stardock games - text strings for descriptions or questions that are longer than the graphic interface allows. Ran into that a couple times in GalCiv and Corp machine. - Newspaper names are too long for the newspaper graphic - #6's interview questions cut-off - I'll second #4's mention of the counter-intuitiveness of the "Opponent" speech options - if you click on a window's background, wa

I had been sent a Scenario editor executable by Cari, and had the same problem. At the time, she thought it may have been an OS issue. I've uninstalled everything (including Stardock) and re-installed, and still have this problem. It hasn't made a difference where the scenario file is saved to.

In fact, a few more governors would be great for this strategy. You could have mid-, late-, and end-stage development governors for each major planet strategy (early development would probably be pretty much the same across the board, no matter what kind of planet it is). In GalCiv 2, you might set up an automatic succession of governors, once the social queue is complete for each one. That way you won't have to figure out which governor you need to switch a planet to once it's done wit

When you first colonize a planet, you can set it to a governor who's social spending is at 100%. The build queue will contain the projects that you want on every planet, but only the bare minimum. Once the planet is done building what's in its queue, it pops back up (as things are now), giving you a chance to change the governor to whatever strategy you think that planet should follow. One governor for core research/influence with equal social and research; one for manufacturing/shipbu

How about sliders for each governor? Your shipbuilding worlds' Governor will have little need for social spending - his military slider will be set higher than the rest. Newly colonized worlds' governor will max out the social slider. Core worlds will be devoted to research. Separate build queues seem to be little-used in the game now. This might make using the different governors worthwhile. But enough about GalCiv 2. How about just zeroing out production spending
