Altarians in Galactic Civilizations I Stardock Forums

After looking at some pics fromthe OS2 version on another site I noticed the Altarians used to not look human - then I noticed an old pic on Drengin net where Altarians used the Torian leader (who looks abit like like the OS2 Altarians). My question is: Why make the Altarians look human?
