Do attackers get a +25% advantage (this idea was being kicked around), or is it a straight out slug-a-thon between the attacker and the defender? Dano

Ye Gods! You know what I am genuinely puzzled about? How come it takes the larger companies 3-6 months to release ONE patch with hardly any enhancements or fixes (comparitively speaking). Is it a lack of desire on their part, or is it due to hulking bureacracies? In any event ... long live stardock! Dano PS - Please don't burn out ... at least not until the expansions are out ... <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Wink.gif" border
Yep, Problem here too ... When I click on the 'More' button of the forums I get a 'Page Cannot be Displayed' Dano
In the new combat setting the attacker is going to get a +25% advantage. This amount might not be everyone's cup of tea, so what about the idea of making it a game setting? You could have Attacker +50%, +25% +10%, 0%, -10%, -25% and -50% Then everyone would be happy ... except for Brad of course since I imagine the above addition might play havock with the AI. Just my 2 BC Dano
I believe that a significant portion of the Expansion will be devoted to creating Custom races. I don't have the link handy but Brad said as much a couple of months ago. Dano
Please add an option so that the fleet that was previously selected on the main map appears highlighted on the diplomacy screen. The only thing I hate is when I trade a lot of ships, I need to write down on paper the specific ships that I want to trade to the AI. Dano
Actually I have always been scared of using defrag. On a large drive it is an overnight job, and if the power goes out your system is pretty much screwed ... no? Please correct me if I am wrong here ... Dano
Ye Gods ... 6 months without a day off! Have a good time! And no sneaking peeks in the forums when you are on vacation! PS - Where DOES the name 'Frogboy' come from???????????? Dano
Just a question - Are Evil Races a viable choice anymore? Sure they get better weapons (but then the good races get better defenses), and with the new 'Big Picture' AI, the fact that the other Good AIs (of which there are now 4 (Altarians, Drath, Iconians and Torians)) will gang up on them seems to be a big penalty. Dano
I would take new features and perks for Single Player over Multiplayer ... That being said, if Multiplayer came out, the ONLY mode I would be interested in would be PBEM. Any other form would be useless to me. Dano
In your next poll please specify what KIND of multiplayer you are envisioning. The only multiplayer I would be interested in is if you could somehow make PBEM viable. Dano
I'm with you Brad! People Suck! That's why I play computer games ... Actually if GalCiv had play by email, I would be all for that. I have no idea how this could be effectively implemented, especially in the early game. Maybe email games would have all players start with 5 planets and a bunch of ships or something. That's t
Its cool that you know who paid off your enemy to war with you. Is this automatic or is it an espionage thing? If you pay off X to fight Y do your relations with Y suffer? Dano
Personally I wouldn't even try to ship an expansion before Xmas. With 1.1 and 1.2 going full steam you guys must be close to collapse. I would vote for Feb 2007 with an open beta before. What's the hurry? We will still be here ... Besides ... with the popularity of GalCiv 2 I think you will find Beta Pre-orders for the Expansion to be about a BILLION percent greater than GalCiv 2. Just my two BC. Dano
Mmmmmmm ... I love the idea of AIs going to war because they recognize your philosophy of Manifest Destiny. Q - Will such attacks only come from Military Campaigns, or Influence ones as well? Q - Is it a sudden attack (i.e. We were soulmates and suddenly 'Britain' declares war on me the next turn), or is it a sudden degradation of relations. If the latter it could be easy to buy peace from them, or the degradation may simply make
Good God! You guys need a vacation! Dano
Any other comments? Dano
Yes ... definitely something like IG2. I never played it, but the spy system sounds very flavourful! Anything but the dreaded slider battle! LOL Dano

Hi Brad, First let me congratulate you on the success of GalCiv 2. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving company. Your views on customer support and copy protections have made more than a few of us, rabid fans. Anyway, I had some thoughts you might be interested in regarding the upcoming expansion. You have mentioned that in it, espionage would be getting some much needed loving. I was trying to think of a way that this co
Just curious ... if so you got my money. Okay ... who am I kidding, you have my money regardless .... Dano
I have noticed (and I have only been playing the game one level below intelligent), that once you have become a superpower the game is pretty much over, even if you have 75% of the map to conquer. It seems that the AI is only too happy to be your best bud, even when your influence is drowning them and you are gobbling up other races. This MAY keep them out of hot water for a little while, but an alternate strategy would be to quickly downgr
Cheers - Thanks for your help Dano
Ah ... I see. I understand. Here is a question though - will Stardock Central still work if a meteor takes out the company of Stardock? Dano
