Here is a question: Will a bizillion economy structures on a planet all provide their bonuses even if there is only a token population for it? The above is true for production, I was wondering if the same is true for economy structures - cause, my economy sucks in the game I am playing. Dan

I read somewhere that there are evil weapons that only evil civs can use. I am currently researching the tech after good and evil (can't remember what it is called), but it only shows evil structures? Does anyone know where I can find these horrible, effective weapons? Dano

8.5 is way too good for Rome Total War. That was a beautiful game that was utterly reduced to mediocraty by weepingly bad campaign AI and non existent diplomacy. Maybe Galactic Civilizations 1 spoiled me. Dano

Hi all, I thought this would be a good thread for people to list their top three things they would like to see updated in the game. Please don't say things like "Multiplayer" or "Tactical Combat". Love or hate these things, everyone can agree that they are not things that would be bestowed by an update, but would require a full blown expansion. Let me get the ball rolling: 1) AI not doing things with sold ships. Its kind of strange to see these vast parking l

I like the way it is ... if you condense the techs then you are not as willing to sell, or give them away to the AI, and this is one of the best ways to get an AI to dance to your tune. In CIV 4 I hardly every chatted with the AIs in diplomacy, cause there was just too little Tech and its effects too momentous to use as a carrot. Dano

In the new patch being planned they are planning to allow trade goods be available to those that capture the planet. This is very good. My question is, will this Trade good be TOTALLY the Captors? I.e. the loser no longer has the trade good to offer in diplomacy, but the captor does? I think this should be the way it works ... after all its costing the Captor a potential planet tile. As for super projects ... will they stack? If I have a super project that raises my economy 50%,

I See your point Habadacus, but I think it succeeds too well at curbing rapid expansion. The drain that new colonies put on your economy make it totally useless to acquire colonies through ANY means. You might as well destroy new ones, which means that cultural and military victories are harder than they need to be. Plus it seems silly that a civilization that is in near stone-age tech (comparitively speaking) can get a colony turning a profit faster than a god like one. I really l

Kind of a contrast compared to the "support" that was given by the Antichrist ... whoops ... I meant Atari for MOO3. "Cool! A game that actually doesn't do anything even on level Impossible!!" How long did it take them to fix this game breaking bug???? The game came out Feb, the patch came out JUNE!!!!!!!! 4 FRACKING MONTHS! I laugh thinking about all their excuses ... "Well you know, this is a really complicated game where everything touches and has an effe

Congratulations! You just became my favourite game company! Well ... okay ... there really wasn't that much competition out there ... but still - its gotta count for something. Should we use the same thread to make suggestions, or should we have another thread where suggestions can be posted regardless if it is an easy one or not? Dano

Its even worse for factories ... I captured a beautiful world with no factories on it. The only problem was that I was in the highest factory level. Length of time to get the colony up an running? 300 turns. Give me a break. I must have sunk 50 K credits to get that colony up and running. I think obsolete structures need to be buildable, otherwise if you are far ahead in structure tech, why bother capturing planets? Unfortunatly because the AI would now need to know t

Thanks for the info! Its not a big deal. I am getting a new system as soon as oblivion goes gold! Oblivion and Gal Civ 2 ... so long friends and family! Just thought I would report it in case it was a dreaded memory leak ... Dano

I sell lots of ships. I generally try to move them to WHERE I want the race to have them before I sell them. About 40% of the time they sit there, and 60% of the time they use them to raise hell. I am playing on Sub Normal, so I expect a lot has to do with the AI intelligence level Dano

What intelligence level is the AI set to? At dumber levels the AI is much less reactive (it only has chances of noticing things). I sell ships to the minor races all the time ... I think I am at Sub-Normal. Sometimes the ships just sit there, othertimes they go on a rampage with them. Dano

Say Stardock, If we were to add new techs (I assume its in a txt or xml file), would the techs automatically show up in the tech tree? If we (for some reason) made a gigagun that did 3000 points of damage - and was only a level 2 tech, would the AIs be smart enough to go 'Holy Crap' and all pursue that insanely powerful tech? Dano

Not actually sure if this is an exploit or not, since it seems like perfectly fair gameplay - but I think the AI is quite susceptible to it. 1) Locate resources that someone is mining that you don't want to risk war with. 2) Find or encourage someone else to go to war with that race 3) Build a constructor and a few warships 4) Move the constructor and warships beside the resource 5) Sell the other race the warships 6) They will destory the mining base,

Hi there, I noticed that when I finish a 3-4 hour session of Gal Civ 2, that when I exit the game windows is complaining of low virtual memory. I currently have half a gig of ram and a 128 meg ATI video card. Not sure if this is a bug, or my system just sucks. Anyone else notice this? Dano
