Too late. The Dread Lords have been freed already. No more crystals for us. Arnor will pay. :) ~SDC~
Panzerdoetter
Was it the Dread Lords? They are showed up and stomped me. Before they arrived there were a couple of messages about a religious cult seeking a key, then they were freed from their crystal and then I had pretty much the same experience. But hey, you would be cranky to if you had been imprisoned in a crystal for several eons. Of course, I am now a Dread Lord looking for some payback on the Arnor. :) ~SDC~
Hey! I thought you were moving today. ~SDC~
Then he'll need some theme music.... :D ~SDC~
I agree it would make more sense if the all the computer civs started with Stellar Cartography. It would also fit the story line. This should be added to the suggestions thread. ~SDC~
Weird. It shows David's score as 885k on my screen. ~SDC~
A cached web page perhaps? ~SDC~
I'll post it on my website tonight. ~SDC~
You can "rush" the Stellar Cartography. I think the Technician advocated that as a possible starting strategy. I tried it in my latest game and it seemed to work. I think it is more useful in the larger galaxies. In any event, it was another tech I don't mind selling to all the computer players. ~SDC~
rbloom - I use NAT on my router, so I wouldn't think it is that. ~SDC~
Empires appear to be a "clan" type system for the metaverse. On the left hand side of the metaverse page you should see a "Top Empire" button. It ranks the various Empires. Clicking on the empire shows you all the members and scores for that empire. Or you can just go to the following: http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp ~SDC~
I have submitted one game, a whooping 3 pointer, which shows up on the Metaverse. I only mention it because I use a Netgear wireless router. Of course, it may be a bit of a payback for being encased in crystal for eons by the Arnor. ~SDC~
Many thanks. Have I mentioned, how much I like elves? Your ears read like they may be a little pointy as well, perhaps from associating with CariElf. :) You Stardockians are all alike in offering outstanding support. Thanks again. ~SDC~
Yeah. Much rejoicing! ~SDC~
T-Man, I messed up my empire name when I created it for the Metaverse is there a way I can change it or you can change it? Currentl, "Dreadlords" should just be "Dread Lord". Also, out of curiosity what backend database are you using? MSSQL? Thanks. ~SDC~
You've got to love elves. ;) ~SDC~
Nevermind. I found it in wonders.imp. I changed the ID to 12. ~SDC~
David this sounds like rather important catch. What file and value should be changed and to what? ~SDC~
Crush'em. Do unto them, before they do unto you. :) ~SDC~
All tech advances that occur during those two years or all existing techs and advances? I would just turn off research if it is the first. If it is the second, I think I would grind my teeth in furry. ~SDC~
Thanks. I was mildly worried that I might be missing other files. ~SDC~
Correction. I downloaded it Monday the 24th. I forgot that I was up until 2 or 3am that night. ~SDC~
Brad, I am missing the html quickstart guide you mentioned in another thread. While not critical, it has made me wonder if I am missing some other files as well. I downloaded my copy from the California server Monday night. Is there a way I can verify my installation? Should I just reinstall? Thanks.
Not this time. I haven't been offered any events so far, so I've been decidedly nuetral. However, since I am a Dread Lord, freed from the accursed precursor prison, the Altarians have reason to be worried. :) ~SDC~
The gc_quickguide.html doesn't appear to be on my system either. I downloaded and installed from the California server on the 25th. ~SDC~
