"Coffee: We at G.R.O.S.S. encourage neutral and good strategies (seeing them both merely as evil in disguise). And I must say your strategy of faking neutrality, playing off one vs the other (all the while profiteering off both) is just the evil cunning we're looking for!!! That's worth 5 evil submissions in and of itself. Remind me to make you a senator if you join." Kind words and a bribe make a convincing argument. :p Joined.

First, I like nearly everything about the game, that is, I would like most things to stay as they are. LOL That said, there is a small handful of gripes of the I-don´t-understand-how-this-could-be-overlooked sort which I would love to see adressed. In approximate order of importance: *VERY, VERY, VERY IMPORTANT:* Lack of a Database. You should *not* need to go to the internet for a complete list of the ships/units/technologies in one place. This list (with costs, values and a
Similar thing just happened to me. I patched up to 1.02, finished a small/challenging game with a cultural win/~300 pts. Submitted, but it is not listed. The first game I submitted is listed, but not as a win, although I won. I positively start to hate this metaverse feature. >:(
"Creative means more new techs become available "quicker"." But then it´s essentially redundant. (Same as Research Bonus)
If you select "Creative", what are the advantages? Are there any extra techs? Or do you get the normal ones faster? But then, what would be the difference to Science Bonus?
If you like more precise games, where every single ship/turn counts, you will most often play on smaller maps. Also, different map sizes make for different rules, sort of: On small maps, early techs/ships are decisive, large maps: late techs/ships rule. If you like variation, you should try all sizes.
I don´t understand the fuss. Why would anyone want to boycott those gals for their opinion? :notsure: My Enlightened Alliance is ruled by Neutral Technologists, so the Dixie Chicks would appear somewhat retro over here, but we would definitely grant political asylum. Who knows- they might even increase our Influence by 1%. LOL
"P.s. Coffee, you might join my new G.R.O.S.S. Get Rid Of Slimy alienS empire. Once you get the new version, and it records allignment, only 5 demonic games to be a senator!!!" Thanks, only one problem: My usual strategies tend toward pragmatism (being neutral diplo master, and playing the good and evil guys off against each other). :)
"It does." Hi, Frogboy. I still don´t understand why I get only 73 points for a victory against 5 average opponents on a small map. It didn´t feel that easy. My compliments for the Ai, but the score system feels out-of-whack. ;p
The score should not depend so much on size. Obviously it´s more difficult to win against intelligent opponents on small, compared to average opponents on gigantic; score should reflect that.
Thanks; anyways, why did I get only 73 points for a win on normal difficulty? (I can understand why I don´t get thousands for that, but 73?!? :( )
I was not online when finishing my 1st game (v1,00; didn´t get a prompt or anything. I went online, back to autosave, finished a 2nd time. I had been playing a small game, average opponents, cultural victory, though when uploading the opponents were shown as sub-normal, why? My entry reads as opponents: N/A, morality: N/A, and doesn´t even say I won! >:( >:(
But what if you reload after a crash to desktop? How could the metaverse tell the difference between that, and cheating? (There is no empirically provable difference, imo.)
Very nice AAR again; really wetting my mouth! :d One can clearly see that, with Galciv, we TBS players are getting a complete, polished game for a change. LOL I have already pestered my local shop to order it, and will have the game a few days after release, if the customs office doesn´t mess things up! :) In the meantime, I check this site daily, so don´t forget to add some goodie each day. LOL
