In any case the best solution is just to play... and don't be afraid to ask. There is plenty of good people around.

The 2nd video is really cool. Good job.
Thanks for the final word, Brad. We can wait...
Hmm... I guess I'll stick with the current version for a while - even though I'm very tempted. Oh well. I can wait. Or not?
Don't worry. They will find countless ways to crush you.
I have GC2 0.81a.015 and Multimedia 1.0.039, with casual CTD's. Is it safe to upgrade to 0.81a.016 and 1.0.042? Are there any major changes? (Feb 21st is soooo far away...)
Whoa... yall are lookin into this thing a little too deep well. this is a forum of GC2 sci-fi fanatics. I would definitely expect these discussions to be deep!
Great stuff. I can't wait any longer!!!
My 5 cents: on this: yes, Starbase mgmt requires some UI tweaking. As many of us, I often send my Constructors directly to the Starbases but then - especially on a large galaxy - I tend to forget where the heck the SB ares. So I end up dropping the upgrade (and possibly losing one turn). You can avoid this by sending the Constructor 1 parsec away, but that's not the standard I'd like to have. Moreover, for SB (and for plan
Hmm... I will never dedicate too much time to ship designing (my beefed transport ship is just a frame with some engines and freezer modules stuck somewhere) , but I do love some of the designs that I've seen around. Then - will be be able to have some "cool" predefined designs? Will these ones be considered as mods or will there be some library within the shipyard? Btw - we could have to pay extra cost to hire a designer - I have 6000 BC in my current game
ciao Mario -- in any case you'll be able to translate GC2 by yourself. I tried translating GC1 -- it's quite easy to do it if you're satisfied with the main descriptions (weapons, techs, ships, etc). It's much harder to have a neat product if you want to deal with the full UI. Italian langiage is full of tricky grammar rules (compared to English)... but it's worthwhile trying anyhow! Anyhow - beware... GC2 has much more text than you can imagine!
Os2wiz -- sorry, I am not your ol'pal, even though my name is a relic from the warp times
Sorry - I was out a couple of day. T-Man and the Stardock team sorted out what happened. I was simply hiding the GC2 icon in SD Central! I finally reloaded and everything is fine. Almost fine. As usual, when fiddling too much with
No change, despite T-Man help I am still unable to find GC2 even on the California server. Any suggestions? Should I reinstall the previous version from the archive?
In GC1 I used to listen to my son crying... In GC2 I guess I'll switch to something else. Last week it was Genesis, Jam, Skunk Anansie, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nina Simone, Pink Floyd, Coldplay. But I'm still on beta, when in final release I'll be defintely more consistent... Psychedelic Rock could be the final choice.
Great and insightful stufff. Looks there's an ace on board.
Sure T-Man! It's on its way already. Thanks for your superior support.
As I experienced issues with the new download of GC2, I decided to uninstall and re-install GC2. Issue is - I upgraded at the same time to the new version of Stardock Central, now to 2.21b (b).165, build 10 - and whoops, GC2 is not there anymore. Any idea on how to sort it out? Thx in advance!
Same story here, I downloaded the Jan 16th relesase yesterday (with the Multimedia pkg) and yes I have bad experiences.- I can't even start the game, just launching the predefined scenarios kicks me out... I am sending the Smart Exeception report - 0x4b66 - to gcbugs.
Great stuff SrGalen I'd love to hear your comments on the whole tech tree... and some suggestions on the descriptions of the techs themselves... i never liked the ones we had in gc1... realistic (?) descriptions really would add up in the game - at least for the few that can tell strings from stings
Very good points, and very balanced approach indeed.
Have a new problem. I am unable to play again from my last saved game. Reloading the game bounces back to desktop. Tried to play from a previously saved one, but after a couple of turns, same story. Submission will follow to gc2bugs -- with the SmartException.zip file.
I'm a litte ashamed to ask such a silly question, but .. what do I have to do to make the extras "stick" to the hull?
Don't know wheter it's been already addressed, but almost every time I fiddle around with the ShipYard, trying to save my poorly designed ships, game ends up (no error msg, just thrown to desktop). Galaxy Size: Large (8 x 8 - btw in the .pdf Guide large is 9x9) HW: IBM Thinkpad T41 (2373TG5) ******************************* SYSTEM SUMMARY ******************************* OS information: Microsoft Windows XP OS version: 5.10.2600 Service Pack 1 Processo
I wouldnt mind some sort of "spoils of war" pact either, to replace the current war-pact thingy. I agree as well. It would alos rule the case of the surrending enemy - what gets to whom.
