I second to have a more interwoven Tech Tree. Doesnt make too much sense to me being able to have hyper-sophisticated techs on one aspect and being illitterate (or so) in other areas. But I also have to admit that being able to over-specialize in some areas makes the whole game more unpredictable. Or it should. Lets play and see.

Thx Peace - I'll sumbit a request to the Stardock team to ask them if they could email me the previous version (I guess it was 1.21 / 1.51). ~SDC~
Hey chan... sorry I can't help you as I promised. As you might see in another post I suffered a pc crash and I had to reinstall everything - still have my games saved but need to find a way to reload the older version of GC. I just passed mission 8 and was starting the last!!! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:( Anyhow - just keep trying! It took me 3 months to get to the last mission (not at an high playing rate though). ~SDC~
Friends, I had a PC crash a couple of days ago and I had to reinstall everything from scratch. (:( I still have all my games saved, but only after I reinstalled GC/AP from SC I realized that there is a version mismatch between the version of my saved games and the newer one currently on SC. In fact, I reinstalled the "new" GC 1.22.101 with AP 1.52b.013, but I am unable to run my "old" AP Campaigns and Missions. Is there a place within Galciv.com where older versions c
Hmm... I do not remember how - but I did manage to win at challenging level. I should also have a saved game somewhere... I'll check tonight. From what I remember it was not as challenging as the following ones though. ~SDC~
Has this been fixed? I do prefer to use SDC as well. ~SDC~
Markos2 is here, Master!
Very good suggestion Cari... I'll reload some saved games now. It's great to see you on the player's seat too! ~SDC~
Thx friends. Btw I am having a VERY difficult time with mission 8 (Torian Vengeance) so I am afraid it will take some time before I can safeloy upgrade!
Stupid question but... are saved games (and saved campaigns) compatible between 1.21 / 1.51 and 1.22 / 1.52? Thx in advance.
he net, I found myself subscribing to Totalgaming after a few days... and I am now spending again my few spare time killing the Drengins.
Great rock albums? In the nineties? Noooooooooooooooo way...
Ok - I'm throwing my 5 cents here... We might have: - sensor range (SR -ie what we're able to see on the map) - zone of influence (ZOI - I assume it's something similar to what we have in GC today...) - zone of control (ZOC - as we may have in many tactical games - ie a zone that usually borders a ship, where an enemy ship gets slowed down ). Let's start with the last one. I'd love to have proper ZOCs. Ok, we'
that the techs might open. Galciv has a terrific AI. I dont want to trade it with anything .

Hmmm... I downloaded it but it didn't work. I realize that the shortcut is to be changed, but even launching it from the \bin folder its not working. Screen goes black and then application ends. Also tried to launch the "profile" application - it seems to be working, showing landscapes and counting the fps... Any clue?
I am downloading it... any ideas on how it is in the meantime?
Yes. Great comment again. It would change completely our playing attitude, becoming way more defensive than what we are today. In fact, I always wonder why I keep protecting my systems with a couple of defenders battleaxes. It is absolutely unnecessary (albeit logical). It should be some imprinting I had with my first wargames (boardgames), where if you were not protecting your systems (cities) you had carriers/missiles wounding you to death... An easy way to solve this c
But this does not make sense... if you really have a core detonation *something* should happen to the planet in any case! I mean, at least some of the attacks should bear side effects, no matter what the outcome of the invasion is. Btw, I did not realize it before nastavnik pointed it out. Once again -- the more I watch these forums (and the more I play) the more I learn! :) :) ~SDC~
I did the same in the weekend. Not that tough. Next step is Korx&Drath... a large map... need to rush for the 5 systems in the middle I guess. ~SDC~
Thx friends - ready for a Torians carnage in the weekend. :d :d ~SDC~
'twas easy for me too - at challenging level. The scenario with the Torians (Mission 6) is puzzling me though. The victory condition is to "eliminate the Torians from the quadrants", but it is suggest to have a cultural domination. And in any case they will declared war to me, no matter how I tried to trade (btw, not having freighter does not help). Any suggestion? ~SDC~
Thanks a lot CariElf. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) You are really making the difference for Stardock. Hope everyone there notices this as we all do. :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: :CONGRAT: ~SDC~
been there... In my case it looked like the mini-freighter was stuck in front of the star system for some reason. ~SDC~
Thats no problem, all you need are different email adresses for the single accounts, I have three for myself.
Icho, thx a lot - you saved me from buying another copy of GC... or from spoiling my average scores! ~SDC~
