I've never won via 'cultural conquest', but isn't their a tech by that name? Does that need to be research in order to win maybe? idle ~SDC~

In my last game I built a terror star and set out to destroy the Yor. I did so without hesitation, however I was unable to attack two of their systems. Selecting the terror star and right clicking the system didnt nothing at all. Is there anything that will prevent the use of a terror star attack? ~SDC~
Concerning the discussion window in SDC, would it be possible to have the the focus between the subject and message pane be controlled by mouse position rather than clicking the individual panes? ~SDC~
1st: Am I the only one who is getting miffed about trading with other races? Pick the techs/systems/ships/TG's, enter a price and/or terms, rinse and repeat... Over and over... Grrrrr. Would it be possible to add a feature similar to civ 3 where you place items on the table and click a button to get an offer. Then you could negotiate from there? I'm sure after many more games we'll all have a better idea of what the techs are worth but even then, it's a pita. 2nd: In my cur
When I update via SDC, or via the traditional patch method, will we be notified if the patch will break games saved under the previous release?
I also think these forums shouldn't 'require' SDC. Look at the average age of a galciv player and you'll see a good portion are in their 20's - 40's. We're sitting at work reading these forums. Many of us wont have the ability nor right to install SDC on our work machines. I ask that whatever functionality you incorporated into SDC is made available on the web side of the forums too, not just within SDC. idle ~SDC~
Ned: "Jed, that there horse is dead." Jed: "Well then why am I still beatin' it?" As much as I am a forum junky, I would much rather have game updates than a brand new, fancy pants forum. Even though I am on the forums more than in the game (:( I am eagerly awaiting the additional features for this board :) idle

Frogboy didn't say the systems not going to change, he just said it wouldn't be thrown out. I hope this means they'll, at least, add the features to this board or maybe even adapt this system to one of the many open source forum system available today. http://forum.snitz.com/ a good ASP forum here http://phpbb.com a good PHP forum here http://hotscripts.com/ hundreds of forum systems here Ned: "Hey Jed, is that there horse dead?" Jed: "I dunno Ned, lets beat it and
I just checked the orion site. Eh.. not bad, but nowhere near the traffic we have here. idle
No offense, but this forum, with or without SDC, is severly lacking the capability of sustaining the group. :( Brad, Your comment made it sound like the current forum software will stay, regardless. If that is indeed the case, I hope the team will invest some time in adding the necessary features to this board. :notsure: idle
BTW I recommend the Snitz Forum software if you require ASP forums :) http://forum.snitz.com/ (forum.snitz.com) Otherwise, the best forum software is PHPBB :D http://phpbb.com/ (phpbb.com) idle
http://www.aspin.com/home/webapps/bbs Site admins! Please look at this link. Over 70 .ASP based web forum scripts available. A new forum will soon become a requirement, we need categories, a search function, email notification, etc. We ARE outgroing this forum! Please investigate! Folks, if you agree that we need a new forum system here, please post. Let's keep this up at the top. After all, I'm at work... I can't play... All I have are these forums and a few ne
#8 by Citizen humane - 3/28/2003 9:50:53 AM Great game but the documentation is lacking. I think Stardock needs to put together a more comprehensive player's manual that addresses many of the the gameplay questions that are littering this forum. Isn't that the standard nowadays though? Hey Brad, are we going to see a Prima Strat Guide for GalCiv? :d
The EB at my local mall in St. Louis county had a whopping 3, that's right, 3 copies. I got the 1st one. :D
I just hopped onto my news server to lurk around the NG's and GalCiv is THE topic of discussion on the comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.strategic NG. Way to go! :D
I didn't read through this entire thread, so forgive me if this has been posted previously. I'd like to see a new forum system here. Perhaps PHPBB or YapBB or maybe UBB. I see this board quickly outgroing its capabilities, no search, no subforums, etc. http://www.hotscripts.com/Perl/Scripts_and_Programs/Discussion_Boards/ Lots of perl based forums here. http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Discussion_Boards/ And lots of PHP based forums her
I got the game last night and wasn't able to play until my son went to bed. By then I was tired myself and only got to spend an hour or so with it. :p 1st impression: Learning curve. The game on the surface looks good. But, like Shrek says, "This game is like an onion, many layers." Not being a TBS or RTS guru, spending alot of my time in flight simulation, I'll need a few hours to get a hold of the UI and game mechanics. I can't wait to spend some more time with it thi
27, and my local EB has galciv instock. 1hr 30minutes until I'm playing :)
