#15 by Citizen Michael Casey - 6/15/2003 7:24:55 PM LDiCesare: I figure since the really good players have the Masochist Challenge (which might be over, I'm not sure) and the Metaverse rankings to compete over, the Game of the Month can be for us unwashed, unloved "Normal" difficulty players to compete at something.Next month's difficulty will be Challenging, which is probably still not high enough difficulty for a lot of people here. On the other hand, for a lot
Is Yor evil by default?
in the encyclopedia link above
Altarian probes seem to confirm that there are literally thousands of barren worlds near where they discovered the Yor. Worlds that may once have had life on them. They also seem to posses far greater technology than anyone else does. The problem with written communication is that I cannot display very much of the actual pictures I saw of the Yor from the Arcean transcripts becaus
group movement: is there a way to select ships *off the ship list* - this is crucial - and send them all to the same location.
uh, go to where you want the ships to go in the main screen, bring up ship list, then click the little blue arrow next to each ship? sure you have to click for each guy, but you would have to click each one to select all of them anyway. also, i thought you could lasso a group of ships and make them go all at once too?

cool. i have seen quite a few red ships out there. i was on a tiny map with the drengin set to pure good and everyone else set to pure evil. the ships look good. have not seen all of them yet. no sign of the constructors. did see transports, frigates, battleships, freighters, and did not notice any weird icon problems. hopefully i will be able to play a game where i can see an excaliber one day...

sending you an email soon. let me try those suckers out. a couple questions: how many ships are there? how hard is it to make the background transparent? i don't think i have a fancy enough graphics program to do alpha transparency or whatever it said in the readme for the ship graphics builder docs. if there is an error, can i repalce the ships images from my cd?
#4 by Senator Nakor - 6/4/2003 5:37:12 PM It was an April Fool's joke.
seriously though, as i wrote out my game description, i wondered why that wouldn't make a great game. combine gta3's persistent world (only make it more persistent), add some diplomacy/rpg elements, alien npc's with personality, and some random events, and you got yourself a funny time-sink of a game.
#2 by Citizen smok-n-joe - 6/4/2003 4:58:29 PM So its a real game?
no. but let's pretend it is. my favorite feature shown at e3 was the rpg and diplomacy parts mixed in where you can bargain with a arcean and buy a new gun using various amounts of aphrodesiac and credits. using influence points you can convince the local drengin thug to kill the arcean and get your money back. however, the local gang of altarians will consider you evil (when you
#2 by Citizen Twirlip - 6/3/2003 5:59:08 PM Regarding influence and voting, should the minors really be producing any? Only the majors get to show up, after all.
perhaps they can do behind the scenes stuff, like how the un security council members can have votes influenced by non member nations if they exert pressure.
