I find that the AI is willing to trade certain techs for a lot of money too, especially the trade ones, such as advanced trade and culteral trade, i normally get at least 50/20 for these, sometimes a bit more, trading advanced trade to 5 Major Civs, and 2 minor nets me 350/20. So i can easily maintain 100% spending earlier, i make sure to research another trade tech, and many of the trade goods. When i have one turn left, ill sell another trade tech for 350/20. After that i will sell so

haha nice idea, sadly the tedium of building that many Starbases would probably be worse for me than having to mop up 10 or 15 planets lol. Also, doesn't the speed increase only work in the sector you have the Starbases in? Didnt realise you could use the bonues to move into other sectors. ~SDC~
Yup Metaverse scores generally update instantly. I suggest a search on this forum, i remember a few people who fixed this problem. ~SDC~
My problem is when reaching the core worlds, some of which have that amazing Precursor event that changes 5 of them to size 40+ planets. They dont just resign to me, even though i have won, so i normally end up haveing to use a cultural victory to end the monontony of the end game :\ If the AI resigned when it was clear he was lost, it would save the last boring hour, i think that is the only point of the game i dont enjoy much, it was the same with all the other 4X games tho
Not saying you cant, was just pointing out the AI often as not will notice and thus not as easy as the normal level. ~SDC~
I hated this too... Until i discoverd my mouse wheel worked on those sliders..try it. ~SDC~
My Last few games i choose the +15%PQ and +1 Sensor Range. The 15%PQ is an incredible bonus, it improves productions, raises morale, raises research etc on a planet. ~SDC~
McDonalds..*Shudders* We Humans are really a ruthless race ;) I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I still stand by my sensor choice :D ~SDC~
Morale is how happy the people on a set planet like you, your popularity is overal how well your doing, it incorporates moral, but also how good your economy is, whether your winning or losing anywars your in, whether you have too many or to few warships etc. ~SDC~
Pretty decent Review, although he rarely mentioned anything about the AI. ~SDC~
I beleive he reviewed the beta of M003, which apparently had an AI that was able to win. ~SDC~
Sometimes..Altough if they percieve it as a threat they will contact you demanding you to give them the Starbase..if you dont..well get ready for war ;) The AI isnt all stupid, it can recognise when you are building forces up near him, or make a Party Palace star in his system ~SDC~
I Agree, looking at my scores you will see i will submit any game that i play, the first two games of mine show up as wins for some reason, but i actually lost those. I like to be able to see my progression as i go through the game, im currently playing on the challenging level, and finding it much more tricky :) The metaverse is fun, but ill leave the top 25 to the people who will only post the 3000+ scores on gigantic maps :) ~SDC~
Yea the Party Palace Terror Star is pretty easy to do in the late game if you have the tech ;) Sadly im finding on the harder AI levels its not as easy ~SDC~
Yup a lot of us have posted this in the "Suggestions" post on the main forum. I beleive that Stardock mentioned it might be possible. ~SDC~
Also everytime you go up a level in Govt, Moral become harder to control. So if you have a decent Economy and dont need the 20% bonus, its sometimes wise not to step up. Your Planets have more chance of defecting on higher Govts it seems too. ~SDC~
I Like to choose Sensors when i have the +15%PQ. Means i only have to make 2 scouts, i have better chance or find resources, i find the planets faster, less chance of missing anything. Just my preference tho ~SDC~
Yup i do what phaedyme does, i mass BattleAx's for defense, and Trade HEAVILY until i get battleships, once i do this i put military to 80% and crank them out, I normally get 30 -100 turns before they discover that tech, as i meaningfully trade all my wonders to them for 150/20 to make sure they dont have the money to do any research while i wipe them out, i can normally wipe out two races before i notice one civ is cathcing up, i then trade with the leading tech to get them in debt, and rush my
I dont think the AI trades differently that with the Player. I have seen the Dregin with -400 cash but more tech than anyone, a few turns later they had 3000+ and all the other civs are struggling to keep in the green. Also have you ever wondered why the Minor Civs some times end up several 1000 in debt? i think its because they aquire techs. Please remember the AI aint stupid, it wont trade your Corvette, or battleship easily, as it knows what a massive advantage those ships a
Or you could pick the really evil options..such as the Starship quality +49% or PQ+49% and choose the rest good, thats how most of my games are chaotic evil...im willing to be evil for BIG bonuses, but choose good answers to bring me back up ~SDC~
Yes you keep the benefit. You are in effect licensing the other civ the right to Make it. Kinda like McDonalds telling Burger King they can make Big Mac's and call them that :P You call also make GREAT money out of these, often several hundred bc's per turn for over 20 turns. ~SDC~
Also Adressing trade, it starts as 7bb/turn, but can dramatically increase over time and distance! check out the Trade Screen a few tabs along from your Economy sliders. In my current game i have 7 Trade routes, all ranging from 60 to 145Bc/turn, in total i have 691bc/Turn from trade alone. ~SDC~
Yup, dont build culture increase buildings on your worlds are from the AI. Dont make too many production buildings on tiny class 14 buildings, it really wont make much of a difference. Dont bother with the Plantary shield buildings unless you are convinced you may be attacked on that planet. In the mid to late game, being selective can help you save 200-400bc/turn in maintenance costs. ~SDC~
Aweill is right, unless you are incredibly lucky and get a whole quarter of the map to yourself, the AI will colonise worlds, i mean you do it, so do they :). The trick is to be able to pump out colony ships from your worlds in 3 or 4 turns, and thus enable you to nab the worlds before the AI gets to. ~SDC~
when i updated it was 0Kb Ig SDC is working correctly, it downloads nothing at all. ~SDC~
