"...and when you invade, the game should switch into a futuristic C&C type RTS where you control each unit in your invasion force individually..." SWEET! And a social improvement could be a dance hall that, when built, would allow the player to enjoy a "Britney's Dance Beat"-style minigame! Morale out the wazoo! ~SDC~

I really want to jump in and point out that this kind of reviewing is most definitely the exception and NOT the rule at Avault. An amendment will be made to this review if deemed necessary, I'm sure. ~SDC~
Thanks, azakain...I'm a dope.
And my new posts don't even show up... ~SDC~
I just got home, updated my SDC, and there's only one thread (Suggestions)! What happened? ~SDC~
I'm curious just how much $hit they did just cause you. I read about problems with a previous version of SDC, but I just updated to the latest w/o my Backup dir being touched. ~SDC~
eh? ~SDC~
That is, I get that it's an XP issue in that WB requires the classic look to be set, but does WB4 have the same requirement, or is it improved to support XP?
Aha...so laying out the $ isn't going to help. I don't suppose WB4 addresses this somehow...?
(I'm sure this has been covered plenty of times, but it's not in the help file or FAQ and this forum doesn't have a search function.) I generally extend the height of my taskbar to two buttons high to provide more room for more open application buttons & systray icons. Everytime I restart (only with WindowBlinds installed), the taskbar reverts to one button height. Is this problem resolved by purchasing the full version? <A HREF="https://www.wincustomize.com/index.asp?
Ha...no, I hadn't made it that far. And unfortunately I can't remember exact details of the cutscene, but I know it was a victory and not a defeat, and that it played just as I was wiped off the map. ~SDC~
Heh...no, I'm all too familiar with THAT cutscene. This was a shiny happy people cutscene. ~SDC~
I'm not sure what happened. I was doing well, expanded and fortified with starbases (had a fully loaded one in my home sector), but through some twist of fate I started getting attacked and pushed back until I only had my home sector left and my "uber" starbase wiped out. Then suddenly, my last planet was invaded and the game ended...to show me a victory cutscene? Maybe I was allied with someone who was allied with the guy who kicked my butt? ~SDC~
"What am I doing wrong?" You're putting too many "o"s in "losing". :) ~SDC~
Yeah, and dumb, too. ~SDC~
Frogboy, that's a MUCH nicer response than I would have given to someone who had tried to rip me off of something I had put so much blood, sweat, and tears into. More kudos to you. ~SDC~
Can you try copying the CD to your hard drive and installing from there? ~SDC~
That's the Software page; sorry. ~SDC~
Fredrik, Where in SDC are you seeing this? Mine only says 1.01a on the Downloads page. ~SDC~
Thanks Dean; it's been bothering me, too. ~SDC~
It means they're damaged, I believe. ~SDC~
Whoops...I see Asharak's reply now. I get it. ~SDC~
*scratching head* I'm not sure if I'm missing something here, but in my copy of GalCiv (and Malleus's, apparently), there ARE planetary defenses (they're called "Planetary Defenses", strangely enough) that can be built once you have the prerequisite research. ~SDC~
I haven't seen anywhere where it says a P4 is required. ~SDC~
I'm bumping and I feel no shame. ~SDC~
