Heard from Mike in Support this morning so at his suggestion tried this ..
What some of you may have to do is to first uninstall Icon Packager with Impulse, and to be safe, reboot your system. After reboot relaunch Impulse and then reinstall Icon Packager. Icon Packager and Icon Explorer should now be working without having to activate it!
But still get this ... I thought 1.91k[a].025 was an Alpha? ... not that it's highly important other than in the context of Betas usually follow Alphas ... meaning maybe a Beta is right around the corner? ;)

Several mirroring utilities [link="http://mirror.qarchive.org/"] here[/link] I haven't tried any of them; I use Acronis True Image. It can do scheduled images of whole drives or just specified folders. It won't monitor a folder and detect when files are added though.

Try this: In SKS6, Edit StartMenu and Taskbar--Horizontal Taskbar--Buttons--Text tab, make the top and bottom margins smaller. It should shrink your taskbar. Also check what Cavan1 noted; if items other than taskbar are too large, they will look odd or not fit properly on the taskbar.

Heard back from Support! :CONGRAT: As Mike already mentioned, the devs are aware of optical drive not being skinned. Still no word on the 'can't find ... activate.exe', but I asked Mike in my reply if that and the optical drive problem were related and if the update released today was intended to fix that activation issue or the not activating on install issue. More when I hear back!
the people that experianced the Icon Packager activation issue
Is that the 'won't activate on install' issue or the 'can't find activate.exe' issue? I have the latter, not the former ... just wondering if this update will help me or if it is only intended to fix the first issue.
There was an error discovered in the Icon Packager.exe files. Currently it is in testing and once it is ready it will be published through Impulse post hate! Just wanted everyone to know!
Thanks Seabass! Just to let you know, it's really nice when someone connected to the development of these apps acknowledges the problems being seen and posts a progress report. Sadly, there is often no acknowledgment of the problem, much less an informational update. I
Just out of curiosity. Has anyone tried to copy Activate.exe from the IP-Program folder to the place where the activation process expect it to be? (to "\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\Icon Packager\").
I tried that ... it still said it couldn't find it

With the recent discussion concerning support for IE7 only (as opposed to IE6), it may have gone the way of the Dodo. Then again, who knows ... maybe it will be added in later along with a few other MIA bits ;)
And my "activation" issue is like this: I can't apply icons to individual files or folders because IP can't find "\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\Stardock\Icon Packager\Activate.exe" Obviously Activate.exe is in the IP program folder, not in the folder where I keep my IP themes.
Same here. I've got a ticket into Support .. still waiting on a response. I'll post the results here when available.
It's a wacky cookie issue. Log out and back in
They usually go away on their own for me after a little while ... no logging out/in, clearing cookies or anything. I think it may be coincidence if they go away after trying all that. Next time you see them, don't do anything .. just keep surfing the site. I'll bet they go away on their own. ;)
