Ya, I saw player levels at 70+ over the weekend. Was awesome. Queue time was less than 2 mins! Getting there. I really can't understand why multi isn't more popular. Bugginess aside, this is one of the best balanced games ever, in my option. It mostly boils down to who does what, rather than PHC vs. substrate abilities. Very chessey. Granted, I do
Yes on #1 and #4
Will it happen? I'd like to see at least ranked 2v2 at some point in the next year.
Thanks. Well aware. I was just under the impression they were pushed off a while. As someone interested in ranked MP, this makes me grumble. But my point is that it would probably make dev's life easier too.
Would probably enable reproduction of player activities and better bug tracking. Just saying. Would be nice if I could just save my game and send the file in when something is bugged. Probably would make devs life much eaiser
Agree with that, I guess. What would it hurt? Open source finds issues more effectively. :) Same would hold true with balance, I would think. But I would relegate discussion to it's own specific thread, because people will argue. I mean, even starcraft deal with this. They have pro players, and balance is skewed towards their metrics, rather than towards the general player population. There are a lot of factors to "balan
10-4 thanks. Still might grab them, but play time is limited right now, so focusing on ranked. :)
might have been it. I don't know.
Three off them, all very annoying: 1) When building a bunch of quanta with engineers, I was unable to place in certain areas, but if I placed somewhere else and then reclicked the original area, it sometimes worked. Something similar was happening when building the mines (on the actual circles and triangles) -- sometimes would refuse to place the mines. 2) On at least one occasion, the engineers too orders, but refused to build. The just stood the
Does purchasing the DLC affect Ranked MP in any way? Or does it only affect skirmish multiplayer and single player modes?
For what it's worth, the game seems to rank my against the top 100 without regret, even though I am only rank 8. I guess my point is that it will rank you against anyone. So if you're playing bots, the must be legitimately no one on??? (has little to do with rank, apparently)
Close this thread. Tail chasing has begun.
Anyone can look at the accumulated change logs in the past 5 months and recognize the game has a very brisk development pace. If there's another RTS out there that you think is evolving faster than Ashes, you should, by all means, play that game.
Amen.
is getting developed at a slow enough pace
not so slow? I think they are doing pretty well.
r low % of problems solved, constructive criticism being overlooked
I have seen at least one of my issues fixed, and I'm glad it was. It made the gameplay experience much better. <
Now that's an idea... give existing ashes players the belated opportunity to become founders. ;) Everyone walks out happy. Call it "followers" or "converts" or "loyalists" or something. Make it cost a little more than original founders (maybe $110-$120) ... Discounted on steam based on current scope of Ashes purchases.... just like cost of Escalation is reduced for current Ashes owne
I would have become a founder if it was still open. I would do it in a heartbeat. My rig wasn't setup to handle Ashes when it was released. I needed to upgrade ram and video card. Wasn't even sure if it would run until I got the game going.
Push something through steam to all current ashes owners. That seems plausible??? Everyone who already owns the game gets this one. As long as you purchase before Sept 30. And Done.
I just logged out of my steam account to check steam pricing. Escalation is $29.99, and it comes with the base Ashes game, as far as I know. So essentially, if you're a new player, you pay $29.99 and get Escalation + Ashes (full experience). Now, you can alternatively buy the Ashes base game at $13. If you do so, I believe you can then purchase escalation at $19.99. &nb
And then there is this: Ashes now selling at $13.99 http://store.steampowered.com/app/228880/ And gold bundle with all DLC @ ~$16 http://store.steampowered.com/bundle/1046/
Here's another thought. It seems like there is this repeating pattern, where they release the game, and then not enough people buy it, so it goes on sale within a relatively short period thereafter. Then everyone who bought at retail price complains, because they feel like they have been somehow shortchanged ("early adoption tax"). This is obviously not intended by Stardock, and probably isn't the way things should t
Sort of agree with Never. Sort of. I can also see that, from SD perspective, they are also adding more investment and additional features.
I ask stardocks again: Why I should buy a expansion for 20 to 40 dollar if you didnt even finish the normal game, fix the bugs and solve the map and fraction balance?
Bottom line is that development costs money. At the end of the day, th
On that last note, I recall seeing this on steam: The first expansion for Ashes of the Singularity will be coming out this Fall. It will be a stand-alone expansion (i.e. you won’t need to buy the base game). The base price for the expandalone will be $39.99. For a limited time, the upgrade price for existing players will be $9 and then later updated to $19.99 eventually (we want to thank our early adopters for their loyalty and support).</s
Sensible. You guys rock! However, I've just been doing some reading, and it seems that youtube has other thoughts on the matter (might not allow it as matter of policy). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zodLs0w7KRg https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/138161?hl=en
