I sort of wonder how attacking is supposed to work. When I attack a node, my units do what I would expect (well... for the most part). They attack the node, and wipe out its defenders, regardless of where the defenders move (and then, sometimes, my troops go wandering off to other nearby nodes, but we'll save that discussion for another time). In contrast, when I a-move, I would expect similar behavior... follow and destroy the units that are reasonably in the trai

One additional thought on this. Maybe think about something like "an a-move that will engage troops, and take any nodes in proximity, and chase within reason"... as a bulked up and more intelligent single macro command to match the macro intent of the game. You want micro control over sance and mode and all that when you need it.. but macro commands would be good too!
Was playing 1.3 last night. I endeavored to attack move on a group of units. My troops ended up killing a couple of the units, and then they sort of stopped firing. But the enemy was firing on me. This was annoying. When I a-move, I expect my troops to engage more reasonably, and chase a bit once they do engage. ... not just stop attacking. Don't know if this is an issue with 1.3 or a-move in general. </p
I'll see if I can post file or video.
Maybe awaiting next patch?
I'm playing the last level of the campaign, and am having a really hard time with it. No matter the size of my army and my fortifications, the computer just keeps rolling me. Now, I realize why. I thought I saw the computer use an orbital attack on one of my nodes where I had built an orbital nullifier. I wasn't sure though. So I re-loaded from my save, and watched the computer do it again. Twice. Any thoughts on why the computer
That's because 1v1 is so awesome in ashes! ;)
Any possibility of an opportunity to engage devs after hours? Maybe weekend compete and twitter/twitch event? Fundraiser for favorite charity for PR? (each hour of gametime recorded on twitter earns $$$ that will be donated to.. )
Skirmish replayability: Someone in another thread said that some of the scenarios are event driven... like "when the player reaches this waypoint, do X." (no, I haven't tested the theory, but seems reasonable, plausible, and probable based on my experience of the game) Is there a way to vary things up more? like... randomly adopt strategies, instead of using waypoints to determine timing? Just a thought. I find a lot of games do the waypoint
Alright. I'm not saying that the game should become Starcraft 2. BUT... In Starcraft 2, I select the factory and give it a rally point, which plan be a place on the map, or a mobile unit. When the factory produces, it then sends the new units wherever I have selected, either to the designated location, or to the mobile target unit, wherever it is (essentially following the target unit).
I guess I haven't been able to find one... I don't know. IS there one you would recommend that is popular?
Sorry you don't like to read my posts. I am not sure how to cancel reinforcement orders. If I have requested reinforcements for a couple of armies, does that mean I need to cancel EVERYTHING before I send troops somewhere else? That's my problem, I guess. Seems like a lot of work, just to redirect a factory where I want it to go.
Out of curiosity, what are the other popular options for recording? I know twitch, but I really don't want to bother to create an account, and I suspect it requires streaming to web anyhow. I also know that Nvidia used to include a video-making application (I think it was called shadowbox) with its drivers -- but I don't think that runs with the latest cards (I have a 1070). So.. what are my other options???
Yes. I get that. I realize that you need the game engine to playback the file. And I realize you need to "direct" the playback. I am just curious if it is possible to engage recording of playback from within the application, without having to load an extra/second application. Just give me a button, plain and simple. "Record this playback." I'm willing to bet there are code libraries that could do t
I don't know if it would be possible, but... It would be terrific if the recording feature could support export as a normal video (mp4 or whatever). I think this is one area where recording in StarCraft2 falls down. In SC2, it is possible to capture games, but as far as I know, if you want to share them, you either need to use twitch or send your recorded game file to someone who already owns the game. &nbs
Played a game tonight. Got a T2 unit, started calling for reinforcements. Formed up an army, and charged around a few nodes. Then I found myself wanting to redirect production from factory to new location, to form up a second army. Hard. Can't just select the factories and redirect production to a new node, because they are handling reinforcements. Couldn&
So.. now back to point of OP... Seems less powerful given that is the case. Even though it keeps Dread on field. Requires micro, watching, etc. Hard to do with a lot of action happening. ALSO... Am curious... when nano cloud goes up, it seems to be a dome. Does the heal effect only reach the dread's army, or a
Single use effect. Immediately restores health to the entire army by deploying a cloud of short-lived nanites.
So I interpreted that otherwise. I read as "select this, and the dreadnaught will gain a single use effect. Immediately restores health to the entire army." I didn't necessarily think "single use effect" meant "one time ever."
UPDATE: Apparently heal needs to be activated, and you do it by selecting the wrench. It's supposedly a one-off ability, and you sacrifice the other upgrades when oyu use it.
Ohhh.... so you are just supposed to leave the upgrade opportunity active and unselected until you are ready to use it? THIS definitely needs some clarification in the tutorial. I've been hitting the wrench right away!!! (also, note that in the other thread, you just told me that you didn't need to activate the abilities...) https://forums.ashesofthesingularity.com/478806/page/1/#3644429<
That's what I thought... seems to be some confusion on that, though. Can't understand what people are doing to think they are controlling it themselves???
I mean there is all this lvl upgrades and quantum upgrades... aren't you should be using them for that? Uh.. those effect all units, right? Not just dreads? So dread abilities are above and beyond the normal? <
Do you need to activate dread abilities, or do they just go off automatic. If you need to activate them, how do you do it?
"Hitting magical button".... ... wait... You don't have to activate the heal by pressing a button, do you? I thought you just select the ability, and then it goes off automatically when it needs to? If I'm wrong... what am I missing? ... what do you need to press to heal?! Have I totally overlooked a UI control? Can you manual
I played a game last weekend where I was able to spam a bunch of chronuses... maybe four at a time, or something. They chronuses weren't necessarily grouped into an army (can you even do this with dreads?), but they were definitely in the same area fighting. And I noticed they were all leveling at pretty much the same time. So this has me wondering how experience is being handled. Are t
