Well maybe you have passed the ANZACs for a little while but it's a temporary set back. Can't we just go back to GROSS just being a lame duck bunch of misfits? And, um, Staffa: the ANZACs are holding a chook raffle to raise money for the Let's Get Staffa Fund. Can I ask whether you are easily bought because I am thinking the chook will go for about $A15 or so. The meat tray (particularly if we throw in the curry snags)may go for a little more. Oh, and Gerraken, you're in the

Have you seen the hoopla in the GROSS thread? If that doesn't get the ANZAC spirit boiling nothing will. I am going to be up all night in order to win a game. I have deferred my jump off the Bridge until the ANZACs are unassailable. By-the-way, I think Staffa may be bribable, so if we start a 'Let's Buy Staffa Fund' we may have a better chance of staying ahead of the dross.

Alright you pack of whining girls! You bunch of pimped up brownnosers! You've all just made a REALLY BIG mistake by showing the finger to ANZACs! I was just about to leave the office in order to jump off the Harbour Bridge when I read your EVER SO provocative bleeting. As I live and breath you will NEVER beat the ANZACs! >:(

Sounds like people are out of their comfort zone at the higher levels. Isn't it better that a maso game should be almost impossible to win, and so a real achievement. A crippling game (say) 25% possible and so on. So you should require different tactics for different levels and a dose of luck at the higher levels. And trade goods can still be traded at the higher levels.

I'm baaaack. Wow, the high drama of Galciv! Staffa's score deleted, Freya quits the EA. G.R.O.S.S. moves up, ANZACs moves down. Hardly anyone is posting on the ANZAC thread. Someone hits No 1 for a minute and then gets deleted. What gives? Anyway, I have to say that for me, one Galciv highlight has been this quote: 'You guys just don't figure it out. When I read people encouraging us to adopt empires that better reflect 'our cultural values' I cannot help but answering that Europe

And keep an eye on the planet's image. If it has a skull next to it you are in big trouble as you discovered. You will then have a short period in which to attempt to build (or add to) starbase/s with culture modules, OR rushbuy a news centre (I've changed the spelling as I presume your planets are settled by Aussies). Oh, and the top right map can show cultural dominance for each sector, and at the top you can click on a tab which shows the exact share of cultural dominance for each civ. If

[Sigh] Thanks for the back rub Space Wombat. I've noted that a few Galcivvers have squawked as updates have changed things. Now that I'm playing a hymen level, and have played every map, I can see how hymen it is to balance a game at every difficulty level and for each size misty. Oh, and Pontius, you will not get a rise out of me by shoving Misty Hymen in my face all the time. I have learnt to totally ignore your jibes. ;p

Pontius#354 : Rattle Staffa? Snort. He'll have the lot of you in the Top 5 in no time. Do you know I never thought of using my survey ship as an attack vessel? I'm going to start a new game and see if I can work out some new tactics, and maybe pore over Staffa's 'How I Cracked Galciv in 132 Easy Moves'.

You are pure evil Staffa, oh no, wait, you are Pure Good? :notsure: I thin EB means does it really matter whether there are a lot of threads. I suppose from my perspective I am starting to find it difficult to keep up with everything...but I knew that would have to happen. And at least we can now highlight the threads we want to read. I've just bought an apartment so I have had less time to converse too.

Now I'd like to see them change 3 things that I think are totally advantage human. 1. Buying (leasing) wonders and trade goods. Make those items unable to be purchased. Admittedly, I purchase em. 2. The 100% solution. Introduce diminishing returns. ie wastage when you put sliders to a high level. 3. Multi-Starbases per sector. Nerf em entirely. Indeed I won't use em. Doesn't have much realism for me. I tend to disagree. The AI has a better economy and would just abo

With planets which are building colony ships DO NOT cross the box for auto-launch. If they auto-launch they usually take half of the planet's population. When the colony ship is built, click on the image of the ship at the bottom right corner and a screen will come up with a slider for the number of colonists you want to put in the ship. If your mouse has a wheel, you can use that as well.

I think there may be some authors names for the planets: Cherryh comes to mind (as in C J Cherryh). I'd heavily recommend these fantasies: His Dark Materials trilogy (Pullman) UK author The Ill-Made Mute (The Bitterbynde Trilogy) (Cecilia Dart-Thornton) Oz Sabriel (The Old Kingdom Trilogy) (Garth Nix) Oz
