I understand what you are saying, Brad, but what does it mean on an issue such as More Jobs where I get 3 thumbs up regardless of whether I say I favor it or my opponent favors it. Why would the voters of a state stand behind me in both of these situations? It doesn't "feel" right. It almost seems like if I say "Opponent Favors" or "Opponent is Against' that the results should be to his ratings, not mine.

One suggestion I have is to throw my voice behind those wanting to see a running mate join the campaign at some time. He should have the same abilities that the candidate does, perhaps to a lesser extent. I think there might be too much to do near the end of the campaign for just one person running around the country. But again, this comes from someone that has no real grasp of the game yet.

I don't really know how to comment at this point because I'm realizing I really don't understand the mechanics of the game. You feel that speeches might be too powerful. My response to that is "What do speeches do?" What effect do they have gamewise? Why if I say that I favor jobs do I see 3 thumbs up? What does that mean? And if I say my opponent favors jobs I still see 3 thumbs up. Does that mean I gain support by regardless of who I say supports job

I have Stardock Central on 2 systems, a Win2000 and an WinXp. The Win2000 machine hasn't required any Stardock Central updates lately, but both last night and tonight my WinXP system has needed updates. Last night was fine but tonight it crashes Stardock Central.

Here's my list, in addition to the one in post #30, from my most recent game: · Fantasy game set up is completely nonfunctioning. · I finished a game as Gore vs. Bush. When I reloaded TPM to start a new game both candidates were set as Al Gore and when I went in to change the candidates there were 3 Al Gores at the top of the list. · The game should save the Player Name and game settings as the default for the next game. · What is

Here is my current list after a game with the current beta. · After clicking Candidate Info and clicking Done you cannot open up Candidate Info again. · Is there a way to see the Candidate Qualities during the game? · The online documentation says that the Opposition quality “determines how much this candidate motivates the opposition to get out an vote.” Does this mean voting for or against your candidate? · None of the state issu

So I can look at Awareness as the percentage of support I have from the electorate? That makes sense. I was thinking it was a more complicated concept, such as you first had to achieve the "Awareness" of the people before you could then gain their support. I will try to get into the game again and see if it's a bit easier for me.

Maybe I was misleading, Brad. I played The Political Machine under the first beta just to work around and get a feel for the game. I don't dislike your game at all; I just don't understand most of the mechanics of it. I will probably get a better feel for it once I play it some more but it's probably just my frustration at not understanding what everything means that is discouraging me. I've been waiting for this game for a long time and just want to s

My observations so far in my first attempt at Beta 2: 1) I would like to see at least one Independent candidate so that you could at least have a 3 way election. 2) When you click on the magnifying glass to examine a candidate there is a box called Points that contains a symbol and a number. The number is different for different candidates? What is this? There is no popup help to explain what this value means. Unfortunately,

How about a screen shot detailing what all the screen elements are? What are those percentages at the top of the main screen? Is that the poll information? What do the thumbs up and thumbs down of different colors mean? See President Forever for ideas and a well explained execution of game mechanics.

I get the following Windows error for PolMachine.exe when starting the game: The instruction at "0x004a2935" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". It then changes the resolution on my screen and runs the intro video (which is great!). After the intro it pops back to this message and when I acknowledge it the program closes. I'm sure that if I acknowledged it before the intro started it would close then.<br
