It's quite possible but don't call it Gal Civ at the end since Construction of Starbases is a key game component. As pointed out in another thread. Pay the 8 points for Magical Planet Quality, roll in the money and then just BUY complete starbases in one turn. How would you like one of those orbiting your palnets?
Frankly I think it's terrible. Talk about micro-management. In addition, loss of an entire sector could easily lose you the game. Especially since the AI would have to triple in size to handle it's own sectors.
As the title says. Using version 1.0x2 I can RESEARCH NLC but I still don't have it in the build list. Is there another prereq I don't know about? I hesitate to go to 1.1 since my game is very stable and still fun.
I'm still a beginner but I played several games before I posted the first one. I've never won a conquest victory. When the other side is down to a single opponet and I'm closing in I suddenly win an Influnce Victory. Huh? I have also noticed, on Beginner that an Influnce Victory is easy to get. Just have enough defence to ensure they don't knock off your planets and starbases while all the tenny boppers play your music and buy your fashions. Is this
Continuing on...... Following the above advice I started the "Dread Lords" Campaign. Won the first two very quickly but only got between 4000-5000 points for the victory (Normal rating) so I assume I was slow . Now that the Dread Lords are here I'm starting to get killed. Thanks for the hints. Of course I find I don't have a choice on planets. You guys act like there is lots of time to "find and decide" on grabbing planets. I find if I BUY colony ships I MIGHT get 4 planets, including starting planet, before the AI grabs everything else. It's like it has a map and I have a flagship and a colony ship to look for targets. By the time I find more than one or two the AI has found everything in range, divided up the goodies
:SNIFF!: I'm lost here. I've only been playing for a week but several things are clear. One - I start researching Universal Translator. When I get it. (4 weeks) Every other Civ has at least 5 other techs. I've gotten TWO research starbases, built nothing but factories and labs. Researched nothing but labs and they STILL just leave me in the dust. Am still on beginner so I don't know what the future will bring. I have sorted my techs by "Least Time" and researched 125 tech last time. I've found the other races will gladly trade techs with me and they never seem to have more than one or two I don't have. Have I found a way to stay on top tech wise, on the cheap? I gave Mr. Ford a priority list and suddenly the entire Alliance is following it. Is there a way to NOT have a Governor run a planet? Where in the manual does it give this info? ~SDC~
If you're worrying about the score you're missing a lot of fun in the game. Just try to win one of each type victory and see what happens :D After all, the Universe goes on and your job/income today doesn't mean much if the quality of life sucks ;p ~SDC~
Somewhere in my barely readable downloaded pdf I'm missing something. I gave two governors a priority list and suddenly found the entire Terran Alliance was following Mr. Ford. By default. I'd really like to have the Governors be manual. i.e. A planet doesn't have a Governor unless I assign one. Is this in the manual and I'm missing it? :notsure: ~SDC~
