The 'Thanks for participating...' text never goes away and stays on top of everything else. When I open the Option dialog its text also stays on the screen after I close it. All the above text never seem to get 'erased' and stays on top of everything else. In a nutshell: completely unplayable for me in any kind of way... :-(
On my registration page I see that for ThinkDesk the expiration date is "september 30, 2008". Nevertheless in the shop there does not seem to be a renewal option. Therefor: do I need to renew or is the " ThinkDesk is currently in beta. You will continue to get free updates for 1 year after the actual "release" of it." still in force?
Just noticed that the size in the subject line of the post came out as ">1Mb"... actually it's 1,024,267 bytes (about 0.9M). :) ~SDC~
It's fully based on Azakain's scan of the printed manual (word doc available from JavaScout's site). I only spent a couple of hours on this so it's far from perfect but a whole lot better than what we had until now (IMHO...). The page with the tech tree is utterly useless but I kept it in for the sake of "completeness" ;) Please note that the content is the same as that of the printed manual (no updates yet). http://geg.webhop.org/Galactic%20Civilizations%20-%20v0.2.pdf <B
Based on azakain's scan of the paper manual I've reformatted it and made a new (and usable) PDF. This PDF is searchable and has bookmarks (and it's only about 1M in size too...). I've sent it to JavaScout to put on his great website put so far have not had a response from him. If you want it I can try to make it available elsewhere.
I just wanted to let you all know that I just sent the reformatted version to JavaScout (DOC and PDF). It's still far from perfect but already much better IMHO. File size has remained about the same for the Word doc and the PDF is about 30% smaller. :) I did use the A6 standard as page size (1/2 A4) but started wondering :notsure: very recently if that was such a brillant idea... Tomorrow I'll probably quickly mark up a version in A4 (or Letter). :D Big thanks to azakain.
I'll continue reformatting for the time being since I can't play much at all... :( The game still crashes to my desktop every couple of turns... Can't wait to get home and try the new patches... I'll send the updated doc to JavaScout (once I'm kindof done).
The Word version is fine now. :) I'm making a 'proper' Word document of it right now (applying styles, modifying page size, etc.) If there's any interest in it I can 'resubmit' it to make it available to everyone.
Question: is the Word file OK? I downloaded on 2 PCs and can't open the document on either one (Office XP). ~SDC~
