pdifolco, I don't think the Enhanced Terraforming mod will invalidate your score. There's three techs which give you two social projects, and all of them are expensive. Its the social projects that give the PQ bonus (+10% each), and the AI has access to them as well.

Only one has been Stardock Certified, and its one of Brad's. Ironically, he has two more that aren't. The certified ones will have a sticker on them.
I once gave the prison to my worst enemy, and they happily took it. It took 10 years for the riot to occur, but it ruined them. LOL
Actually, I've seen this at the lowest levels, even Fool.
I guess I'm the only person who starts games with all the major empires on random alignment. And I met the Yor about 4 turns before they surrendered, and they were on the other side of the galaxy.
Hmm, why do so many people assume the interface change is a bug or a crash? And yes, the Good interface is a little too bright.
I have. It was a game of half and half (half Pure Good, half Pure Evil, and I was Pure Evil). My nearest neighbors were the Drengin, who were Pure Good. For practically the whole game (until I got fed up of the stalemate), we had friendly relations. Maybe it was the fact that I had the best military, or the fact that I was trying to take them culturally. I also had the Yor (Pure Good) surrender to me, for no reason at all. Of course, it might have been that long recession we had.
I saw it in a recent game, but I let it slide because the race that had it started in a very isolated corner with one other yellow system.
When you launch the Transport, you get a slider bar that asks how many troops to load onto it.
Shouldn't that be "American edu-macational decline?" ;p And I don't know why they say it like that. If it was "Masters", it might as well be "Oligarchy". It's singular; only one emperor can control Orion. On a similar note, we shouldn't say French fries and French toast. They're frenched fries (they came from Belgium) and frenched toast, because the verb french means to thinly slice.
That game was Master of Orion (both one and two did this). Actually, it started doing this after you put in the base amount of research into the tech, and the percent was based on the base amount.
There's also cylanders and bi-pyramids (I think there is a better name, this I just remember from chemistry). Also, I noticed the resource file has titles for every resource, but we don't see them in-game. Shouldn't we know that the military resources are dilithium crystals?
As the manual says, its hard for any leader to keep an aproval rating above 60%, so just let morale go down to its 54% level (that's in 1.3 as well). You should only worry if morale suddenly drops below 40, which means someone's destabilizing you. At that point, there's a good chance the planet will join the I-League.
We don't know if the superlaser is actually light, but its more likely to be a type of particle beam. This explains why the beams converge on a focal point and then hit the target. If it was light based, the beam wouldn't work because of the superposition principle (the superlaser wouldn't be one big beam, it would be 8 or 9 smaller ones that spread out).
Wait, I though the humans never built one because the plans they got from the Arceans didn't allow it to be turned off. And one of the Torian greetings says they took down their stargate to build their colony ships.
Chaotic X, where X is either Good or Evil, means that race's morality is between Neutral and Pure X. Being Chaotic gets you some of that alignment's bonuses (but not the more powerful ones), and you have an easier time dealing with Neutral races than a Pure race does.
1152x768? Shouldn't that be 1024x768? What size is your monitor?
I've been able to run SDC and SETI@Home simultaneously, so I don't know what the deal is.
Mike, if I was in their position, I wouldn't be woried about the radiation. I'd be woried about the fact that the room appears to be exposed to space. ;p
Vorlin, they put the +5PQ pick back in the latest version.
Yesterday's update fixed the morale so you can get bigger populations.
The half Def is added after the bonuses from your civ's tech, discoveries and resources, and also applies to Starbase Defense modules. I think the rule could be described as inverting the shield (Earth and Beyond), reflecting the energy, or focusing the defensive phasers.
More proof that anomolies spawn during the game, from page 9 of the manual: "Anomolies will continue to appear at various rates throughout the game."
Albow, ship to ship (or ship to starbase) combat runs in phases. The ship that initiated the attack rolls a number from 0 to its Att value, and the one that didn't rolls a number from 0 to its Def value. If the Att roll is higher than the Def roll, the defender loses the difference in hit points. Then the two switch. If the ship that was originally attacked has a higher Def than Att, half of its Def is added to its Att.
What, was this some sort of test? See who would be most likely to answer an unaswered thread?
