Let me second the recommendation for www.gog.com if you are looking for classic adventure games. This weekend only there is a sale on RealMyst, which is a classic adventure game. Like $5, but Win 7 could be a problem for anything gog sells, see the forums. No combat as such, but you solve a mystery with a dark side. You also view a walkthru on youtube unless your wife has an IQ above 180. I was too stooopid for the Myst series myself. Much better would be The Longest Journey,

Haven't got my beta key yet neither. But watching videos on youtube is considerably less effort. sclegacy has a good channel with some commented replays. In spite of the admitted shortcomings set forth by Raven X, I find Borderlands lets me do what I want. Get out there quick and run around killing stuff. I moved to Borderlands after overdosing on Dragon Age. Fewer RPG elements the better. My next stop will probably be Painkiller! Unless the Naruto mod, whatever that is, grabs hold of me.

KBL is an excellent game. Wonderful artwork, genuinely excellent game. I got the demo for Armored Princess but all the new stuff just did not grab me. Stuck in my rut, I guess. If I'm going to play, KBL still runs.

Went over to youtube, watched videos. Interesting game, immersive; but also comment that it is very grindy. Diablo tradition, but I've got Diablo 2 LoD and Torchlight. Will keep it in mind. For free, it is very good!

If I wanted this sort of game, I would play EVE Online ... which is well established with a dedicated and devoted player base. After the release enthusiasm declines for STO, it is going to be a dabbling player base at best. Water too shallow here.

Thanks for the link! This is what I am really waiting for! I started playing GW on retail release day when the servers went live. SPOILER ALERT First of all it takes place in The Fade, which is the dream world that happens when you eat dill pickles and ice cream late at night; or consume strange mushrooms.
