Really nice looking! Hope the Beta comes soon!
It won't. Not enough budget. Sorry!
Thank you for your succinct response :) Reality (budgets) is a cruel mistress. As I said I am and will continue to enjoy the game, I just really like those sorts of elements.
Hovering vs. Non-hovering is purely a cosmetic thing. I'm not going to imply that cosmetics don't matter. They do. But there is no gameplay effect in this case.
I totally agree. I just think cosmetics matter a lot. And I don't just mean for unit movement. Take factories, the factories in Ashes are boring to look at. Even back in TA they had cool animations, and in the Supcom games and PA th
Those two pictures definitely look a lot better. Hope something like that gets in the game proper.
In Ashes you have: Short ranged light unit (Brute) [anti-T1] Medium range slow firing light unit (Archer) [anti-T2] Medic (healing unit) Scout (provides radar) Heavy short range anti T1 AOE unit (Zeus) Sniper unit (Nemesis) Long range artillery unit (Artemis) Anti-Air unit (Apollo) Area control unit T3 (Hyperion) Base destroying T3 (Cronus) T3 killer (Prometheus) Air Superiorit
The Homeworld game has been in development a lot longer than Ashes, all comes down to budget. I hope it is a great game but the trailer didn't impress me. I agree the game all being hover is a shame. Seeing a group of fast moving six legged units scamper off, or towering mechs stride past tanks, visually just very interesting and adds character. Oh well, some are likely to come later, and I've got used to the hover aspect. Others might not.
Yeah, was just wondering if one of the CPUs started to drag on the sim speed if it was slower than the other CPU and a lot was going on. Cool that you can share a hobby like this with your son. Likely most kids will be better than their parents :)
What is his system? There are other ways to slow down the game other than internet/LAN issues.
If we write them into the spreadsheet someone who has too much spare time on their hands(not me of course ;)) could fill them all in on their own ha. Probably not cool Edit. Ps. This might interest you ASADDF http://steamcommunity.com/app/228880/discussions/1/458604254439275678/
Feel free to put in a bunch of names at this point. I'll go through and remove any that don't work. I am hoping to finish this up by the end of next week.
List them here or put them on the spreadsheet? I would think listing them here would be safer.
By contrast, in DirectX 12, multi GPU is part of the API. As a result, we don't have to rely on the video card maker to do special work for our game. We can do it on our own.
Look forward to seeing it in action! Well, 2nd hand action via somewhere like anandtech as I don't have two cards. I like advancements like this regardless.
It makes sense, but will confuse us founders stuck in our ways :p
Haha, very wise of you. I suspect those two cards will exchange blows on a similar footing. You are nicely sorted either way.
Ah cool, I did do a very quick search for a gaming Lu xun but nothing came up. Sounds like he is/was pretty good, in my day it was all about Thresh dominating in Quake.
You are right tatsu, I would not overclock a card either, you only ever get a couple of fps extra but may shorten the cards life very significantly. I do tend to think factory OC ones are safer than doing it yourself (A bunch of people I know are using factory OC'd Gigabyte cards and they are doing fine) and just wanted to offer alternatives as I think a premium is paid for a mini card and if your case is a normal size then it is not needed. A non-overclocked one would also be fine.<
No problem :) I think I once read that SLI/CF is only used by something like 1-3% of PC gamers - they are a tiny minority really so it is not surprising support is patchy. I hope it does improve though and if DX12 makes it easier to do and less prone to problems then that is great. If you really want to get rid of that pesky 290x I can supply an address to you and make it disappear forever...free of charge no less! :)
But that system is nothing new and really, it should have been working by now well, if configured manually
I don't disagree! :)
Not sure if you are playing with me or if wires have simply been crossed. The Luxun I refer to, a giant in modern Chinese literature, has been dead a long time...so...I guess he would be pretty chill and laid back but I don't think it is the same dude :)
Is there a particular reason you want a mini version? If not you could get something like http://www.scan.co.uk/products/4gb-gigabyte-gtx-960-windforce-2x-oc-pcie-30-(x16)-7010mhz-gddr5-gpu-1216mhz-boost-1279mhz-cores-102 which is a few quid cheaper and be a little bit faster with the over clock.
Yeah, nothing wrong with AMD per say, it's the 2 GPU system that something in the chain can't deal with.
Does dx11 use the discrete gpu while dx12 uses the igpu? DX12 is so new, perhaps the AMD drivers aren't dealing with it well yet so the AMD control panel won't work for it yet? At this point there may be nothing you can do about it and if DX11 is working fine then stick with that for the time being. Good that you brought it to the the developers attention though. Have you tried in the opt-in patch? If not then worth a try: http://steamcommunity.com/app/228880/discussions/1/458604
Are you this guy? http://steamcommunity.com/app/228880/discussions/1/458604254435007802/ You can read what I said to him if not. I would search through Crimson control panel to see if there is an option to select which GPU to use on a per game basis. Edit. A google search might be in order too as this would be a general tool and not one specific to Ashes. Glad you noticed it was runnin
I would not think you would need to shrink the units per say, making the mountains and trees bigger does that through relativity without making the units any harder to see and distinguish. Well, that's how it would seem to work in my head anyway. The mountains just don't look that big. I know you could argue it is because the units are just that huge but it just doesn't seem to work. And to be honest even going by the scale of the tiny trees the mountains are not big. As a
Heaven. Lu xun. Elbiroft.
You know Lu Xun (鲁迅)? I am impressed if you do! I like the idea of having names from many languages. Another Chinese one most will get would be Sun Zi, or m
Yes he is right that it should be on these forums too, and I would never normally mind if he didn't say thanks, but the expression of superiority in, " I'm not one to have Steam on all the time and hover around their forums. *Shrug*" is there whether you see it or not and that did irk me. Nevermind.
