Those are some very low res shots I think so I won't say much right now. The T3 and one of the other units with the three anti-grav pads on both its sides are quite different from what I was expecting. They are very bulbous where I was expecting sleek and elegant streamlined units.

I have to agree on the size thing. If it was scaled differently the mountains would feel more epic, the trees would be a relate-able size and more interesting for it. The feeling of large scale would be that much greater. When navy comes in, either they will be a similar size to current land units, which is not fun for creating a cool comparison between land and mighty ships, or if the ships are much bigger like in real life the bodies of water are going to have to be huge which may not be pr

Optimising is normally done right at the end of development (i.e. now) It is your GPU that is the problem. Apart from being on the slow side it only has 1gig of VRAM and at the moment the game requires 2gig. The game is meant to release in March so unless the devs let you know earlier we should get an update on min specs on or a little before the games release (most games do it sometime before).

If the wiring is old/bad and the distance is a bit far then there can be issues. Works fine for those I know who live in more modern housing. If you are renting and sharing a house/flat then you may not always be allowed to just put wires around the place (although I agree you would be unlucky if flatmate

Perhaps increase their building range too. When some buildings finish, the engineer which did the building is standing halfway in the building thus blending into it. If they are standing a bit further back when starting it this might help alleviate this problem a touch.

They do blend into the buildings very well, so if they have just finished building they can be extremely hard to see. Kind of ironic as I suspect they have been designed to look quite different from the military units for the very purpose of standing out.

I was neutral towards the bonuses originally but I don't like them now. I find many situations where I don't want the units in a meta-unit but feel I am forced to to gain the bonuses, otherwise my units become uncompetitive.

Never happened to me but I have only played on a good connection and vs human online. 60KB/s is your max up? You have my sympathy. Worth trying with AI off, in some RTS games I have played before having AI on does indeed increase load a lot.

It will probably be the AI, they slow the game down a lot more than humans.
dude you must've missed the community map thread . I like your thoughts on unit upgrades and believe it could add to the game in the way you explain. If you have 10 levels per upgrade that is still a fair amount and also allows them to be named which add to the feeling of the game. Limiting quanta so you have to make much tougher decisions instead of having so many quanta relays everywhere that you don't have to think so much about what you are going to spend it on (which can be the case on large maps) also appeals.

Really looking forward to the Beta as then we can really see how the game is going to play. Players are probably likely to get harsher with the game though if they see things they don't like as it will no longer be alpha and things will be quite finalised at that point (unavoidable). The main thing for me is an improved UI with non buggy unit management and smarter units and meta units so I'm no longer fighting the game as well as the opponent. [quote who="3vgz" reply="2" id="

That is a very nice system. I would wait till full release to see how your CPU does as what you are experiencing may be a bug, or at the very least they are still optimising. If I was going to build a nice high-end system which should last a fair few years but doesn't cost silly amounts of money I would be tempted by the i7 5820k (Haswell-E). It is 6 core, can be clocked above 4Ghz and the motherboards support ddr4 RAM, USB 3.1, M.2 and has more PCI-E lanes. Or if you an wai

I agree that experimenting on maps with far fewer nodes would be very interesting. Once we can make our own maps then I can see this happening anyway.

Unfortunately at the moment the DX12 CPU benchmark crashes for me when it tries to load the results page. Seems it's a bug effecting a lot of players. But it did play exactly the same benchmark so I am not sure what it is doing. The normal benchmark does also give CPU results. Are they different?
People need to run benchmarks at some kind of agreed-upon settings to get answers. My six-year-old quad core with hyperthreading is more than enough to run this game according to the benchmarks I've run. It's the GPU that matters.
The benchmark seems reasonable at testing the GPU but not great at the CPU. I have seen screen shots of players with a huge number of units (far more

With Navy and even bigger maps in the future, which tends to equal more units, and maybe 8 player games at some point I have no doubt a more powerful CPU will be really worth it.
One of our big upcoming focuses is going to be not just on meta unit targeting but regular unit targeting in general.
That is great because I think it is becoming apparent there will still be situations when a group of non-meta-ed units will be the better choice so that needs to work well too.
