- More unit diversity. Right now all units hover or fly something like tanks or mechs would bring some diversity to these unit types
They have said that is not happening by 1.0. Sometime down the line they may do some mech type units but not likely track (as it is meant to be made obsolete by the hover ability)
- More unit types period. Right now there appear to be relatively few units. That might
I will disagree. You still need a powerful CPU.
i5 2500k OC'ed to 4.4Ghz (a very attainable speed) is not the most powerful CPU but it is a powerful CPU. You are developing the game so this might be dumb but I'm going to bet against you and say the i5 will be sufficient. :p (At least for the next year/18 months) (I don't think there is a game on the planet where it isn'
Game results are still listing the AI opponents as beginner when they are not. I hope this gets reset at launch (when I assume it will be working) or can be fixed retrospectively. The former seems better so everyone start on an equal stage, after all beating normal A.I. in version .6 will probably be quite different from beating it in version 1.
Make sure Temporal AA is off. That is very GPU heavy and sometimes when I changed the graphics settings to High it would turn it off and other times it would put it on medium. Running the benchmark on Extreme, which has Temporal AA off and on High with it on medium the results were almost the same. High with T AA off was 8+ fps faster on my 970 FTW. Anyway, that particular setting is a bit buggy with it sometimes being on and sometimes being off. If Extreme and Crazy settings have it
An over-clocked i5 2500K really isn't that far behind more modern processors for gaming performance. Unless you are heavy into a few other areas it isn't really worth upgrading. For gaming an i7 also adds very very little over an i5. If I had your system I'd wait for either Kaby lake, maybe even Cannon lake. Here are a few modern games with the CPU benchmark. Non-overclocked i5 2500k does very well and most can get a very good and stable over-clock on it - more than 4GHz.
I didn't realise I wasn't seeing Founders forum updates in my main page so got lots of thread to read. doh. Those Substrate buildings look very cool, I can why you said you may have to do another art pass on PHC to bring them up to the same level. Really looking forward to the Beta.
We're going to do an update where you can see in progress games (you won't be able to join them but at least you'll knwo that the issue isn't on your end).
I think you once mentioned something like an alert system. So when waiting for a game you can do something else or SP and went a lobby goes up you receive a notification. Is that still going to happen?
New Global Ability: Amplify. On a structure you've built an amplifier on, you can increase its output by an additional 10%. Stacks. Permanent.
I hope this sort of ability has a visual identifier on the node. So it gives you a nice boost but enemies with vision on it can also see that you have stacked it up X amount of times which makes it a good target to destroy.
- in the .64 version I did like the health bar on units and buildings, seems in .70 it has been removed or is there away to toggle this.
Holding down "Alt" will show the health bars. There is also a permanent toggle in the menus I think.
Bit of feedback, observations, mix of things. - Starting on the top left on the new map Crater there are 5 metal wells but two of them are so close to the Seed that they can't be built on. - I noticed both my sentinel and the enemies often did not shoot at the opposing forces units. Sometimes they did, not sure on the deciding factor. - Sometimes could not move a unit, attack move would work though. - purple flashing around map edge. - Performance m
You didn't sound harsh, you made a good point.
Is your UI scale on the default? Or your resolution supported?
please work on meta-unit movement behavior and auto-targeting. units that have been given an attack order will stop all attacks indefinitely once unit is dead and take fire from all remaning units (if that unit is AI-controlled otherwise the same happens to the opponent) even at point blank without returning fire on any of all of it's turrets until given a new attack order.
Yeah, I had this too. I had a massive T1 and
For me a compromise would be nice. A while back ASADDF did a nice mock up of a full screen mini-map where T3 were represented by a large dot, T2 medium and T1 small. If this method were used in the radar I think it would work well. The player would have a rough idea what is coming which aids in his strategic thought processes but the system also retains the value of sending a Pan etc. if they player wants to. It lets the player decide how micro they want to go without too much punishment or b
Thanks for letting me know about TB. I've looked it up and you are right. He beat the bowl cancer only for it to spread and be in-operable in his liver. Very sad indeed.
Dreadnaughts need to be nerfed. They are way too powerful.
I don't think the T3 units are too powerful. Infact I think they could be made more powerful but more expensive. A reasonable amount of normal T1 and T2 units can take down a poorly supported T3. If they were more powerful but more expensive they become rarer but more scary. Being more powerful would make the T2 anti-dreadnought unit more relevant
That's hawtness... I'll bet you don't need a furnace in your house with that thing on either ..
It makes you wonder what it takes to make those numbers much lower!

don't count on that. TB is duely enjoying his last days and no longer providing his usual content.
I thought he beat the cancer and was working as per usual? (if that is what you mean). I could be wrong though as I only very occasionally check his stuff out. I enjoy Angry Joe's reviews too, though I only really started watching his stuff this year I think, I've watched some stuff from previ
There is also this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fxlVlJdh-lM I am sure he is a nice guy but taking a quick look he averages between 20-50 viewers on his videos so he ain't the best choice to reach the masses. More importantly he is so super casual and plays against easy or beginner I think it actually hurts the game as he doesn't really show the games potential. Close to release I w
They might want to put a 30 second cool down on some abilities. Otherwise, save up plenty of quanta, do a "reveal map" on enemy HQ and just spam lots of Incursions down and take out a base like that. I intend to try and do that anyway :) (In the name of testing balance/OPness of course)
Do you expect the AI to make use of the 0.70 changes like the new global abilities?
Not yet. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J4CQSc2Vszc Edit: Bunch of Youtube people seem to have got .70 early. In the summary screen of that game you can see they have zero global ability spending.
+1 on the terrain needing an upgrade. When a few friends have seen screen shots or the benchmark running they look at it and say it looks like it is missing something. They mean the terrain. As said above, the scale makes trees look like moss, or shrubbery at best. Dunes which might be quite large on the human scale are barely a crease on the map. I know there will be no navy but I was quite surprised there will be no place-holder water by release as even a pool or lake here and there can mak
Fortunately one 290 should run Heroes of the Storm fine. I don't have AMD, does the new Crimson interface make it easier to turn CR on and off? For some things I think it now supports game by game settings which may be very useful. A lot of people swear off SLI/CF after they have tried it as it is often not supported or supported late after the release or just more bug prone etc. The coming years may see a tur
DX11 is quite opaque I believe so the game developer can do the best they can and no doubt try and follow certain guidelines but Nvidia and AMD often have to do a fair bit to get games running as well as possible on their hardware. Some game developers really do shoddy work though which leave Nvidia or AMD with problems sometimes (often?). As SLI/CF is handled at the driver level and as dx11 is opaque that means AMD or Nvidia have to do it. However games can be developed with or witho
