Including a save game from right before the SK battle. Once the battle starts, it proceeds okay for a couple of turns, but then unfailingly hangs on an enemy unit. The animations keep animating, but the unit never does anything, so it sits there until you hit auto-resolve (which it always loses.) http://nomango.com/broken2.EleSav
I feel the need to disagree on the dislike of slow units. ...
I would like to officially agree ten million percent with everything you said.
Don't say you had fun, Frogboy will get mad at you.
Did you type that on your phone? ;)
Quoting ColaColin, reply 1 It screws with my head how it uses right click to pan and middle mouse to change the camera angle. Yep, I have also been having issues with this...I think some games seem to have just ingrained in me that middle mouse + drag should mov
1. Does it work on your computer?
Yes.
Does it perform well on your computer?
Not TOO bad, though there is much delay in the user interface. Someone else mentioned the difficulty in boxing units. Nothing feels terribly responsive, and the framerate is nothing to write home about, but I think it's fair to say the game generally performed and was playable.
3. Any other feedback
My first impressions were "ehh, seems like a standard TA-ripoff, and the controls are pretty clunky... Oh well, it's pre-alpha, who cares, I'll just fiddle around for a few minutes, turn it off and come back later." Except I didn't turn it off, and found myself playing giddily for the next hour and a half, gleefully fighting against the UI (not a typo), searching frantically for hotkeys, and making things explode without even noticing the time going by.
4RTX
That is awesome. Well done, sir. We needed a snappy name for the hybrid, and that's perfect.
Who won?? I'm guessing it's the guy who designed the game!?
THE FIRST RULE OF OTC IS DON'T TA--- oh wait.
Quoting jirkaesch, reply 23 Definitely. And the "4X 4X" is a typo I think [e digicons]:)[/e] It could just be the most meta 4X ever conceived...like a 4X inside of a 4X. Keanu: Woah...
It's a space 4x, like Gal
Is there an ULTIMATE ELITE FOUNDER thing we can buy for like $500 and we get everything you ever make from now on? SOLD!!! :)
Nice! More importantly, does my badge show up here?? EDIT: Yes, but still the GC3 one instead of the OTC one. Oh well, baby steps. :)
Let's see... Huh. Well, my GC3 badge shows up, but not OTC. Maybe that comes later.
Removing because dumb.
Wait! WAIT! I just got my NDA in email AS I WAS TYPING THAT LAST MESSAGE! (spoooooky music)
Amom: They only send them out once a week. I'm told on Mondays. Also, I'm pinback from the Star Ruler 2 chat. Saw you there last night! We run in the same circles, it seems. :)
Come on! I want my completely unfinished game! I WANT MY PLACEHOLDER ART!!!! :D
So when it says "play the prototype NOW", it really meant "play it whenever you happen to be lucky enough to get a key"? Hahaha. Oh well, no worries. Pretty excited to see how it looks, though.
The person assisting me with the ticket found something that fixed the issue, if anyone else is having it: Go to My Documents/My Games/Galciv3 and delete the "prefs.ini" file. That did the trick, and brought back Earth's precious continents. Not sure why, but it did.
Well, then we've got 'em surrounded!
Done! Thanks.
Not sure why your having this trouble. On mine it shows earth perfectly.
Well, that's why they call 'em "bugs"... :D Is there somewhere more "official" I should log this problem, or are the devs pretty good about picking up on issues in here?
