Are there any "official" downloads you can add to the game? I am curious if adding custom events, techs, etc. will prevent you from uploading a score to the Metaverse. If it does, are there any mods that still allow you to upload scores? After having played through a few times now, I am tired of seeing the same old events, especially the planetary decisions (the ones you sometimes get when you first colonize a planet), and it would be nice to get a little more variety. I know that Frogboy has cr

Actually, I had the exact same problem, and I DO NOT have a SB sound card. I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz (most recent drivers). The game was literally freezing every 10-15 minutes or so, at least half-a-dozen times, and when I saw that turning off the music would prevent the game from freezing, I went ahead and killed the music. I haven't had a single crash since then. It is frustrating, since I would like to at least hear what the music sounds like. --jmt ~SDC~

Howdy. I haven't had any problems uploading my scores to the Metaverse since I got the game. Now that I am playing my fifth game, it suddenly doesn't want to upload. I have tried uploading with both 1.02 (released on April 4th) and 1.02.40. Neither seems to work: the program doesn't crash or anything when I upload it, but my little Metaverse profile doesn't change either. Seeing as I put a good 15-20 hours in on a Gigantic-sized galaxy, I would really like to figure out what my problem is. I am

I tend to play a very tech and production heavy game, cranking out a truly obscene number of starbases to guarantee my planets can gain some very high production levels, paying for my race up the tech tree. I generally use almost all of my planets to produce constructors, while a few planets produce battle-axes (and later dreadnoughts) to defend the starbases ringing my "turtled" civilization. My question is: if I get defense upgrades for a starbase, do those same upgrades apply to any ships tha

I've seen several posts on the forum about evil computers being more powerful than good computers, and after my (admittedly small) first few games, it seems like all of the moral choices benefit evil. Good always seems to get punished for doing the right thing. Is there a game balance reason why evil is rewarded? It seems to me like every enemy race can be set to whatever alignment you want, so being good or bad doesn't seem to make much difference when dealing with other races. Sometim
