HF-0... Have you read the comments by Brad on the coming expansion pack?? Linked Events sound very cool. You might be re-writing the 'writer' after that release. I wonder if 'linked events' will make use of the 'probability' option that is currently set only to 100%? ~SDC~

Almost as ethical as loading up excess citizens into colony ships and destroying them in deep space because morale was too low. :) (Wonder how much the government would have to spend on propaganda if the Altarans heard of it and flashed it over the Terran news nets.) ~SDC~

Yep. Seven is the magic number that makes it an 'official' suggestion... More stars and more choice in the structure of the galaxy would be kewl.... Perhaps it would mean making a util to 'create' some pre-fab galaxy maps which could be then loaded by GalCiv? That way everyone is kept happy and the variety of gameplay is increased even further - I guess the only issue is balancing the added star effect for the metaverse. ~SDC~

I like the thought of it... and I think it would definitely be possible to a certain degree as the game stands now. If using a MOD launcher or similar app you could tell GalCiv to select only .events that you have created for the MOD. renaming the races and the terran alliance, and inserting a decent backstory shouldn't be an issue. the hardest part I would think, would be making the AI behave a certain way. I guess unless the behaviour is specifically editable then it would be relatively ha

...This isn't a request, comment or question. It's called 'encouragement' cause I think your onto a good idea. Keep working on this project of yours, It looks like it's got brilliant potential. Reading the FAQ's on how-to MOD different things for GalCiv I was thinking, It's not too hard, however with utils like this, writing small and numerous MOD's will be quick and efficient work. I hope it's possible to add things like UP Issues and Techs in the future, this will be an inval

*grin* I had the same thing a couple of times too.. (note: that *grin* is actually a baring of teeth at the Drengin Bastards, carefully disguised incase someone lets them know I'm pulling faces and they get more agreesive) All five races set to 'Pure Good' and me being a darling angel as well... Still I get random declarations of war from the Drengin for no apparent reason (they're on the other side of the map for goodness sake!) at least the other races seem to take provocation.. Cultu

The PDF Manual is still a work in progress, due to the game being constantly updated. I presume this is the reason why it isn't particularly legible at present? The document itself was created on a Mac, and I'm wondering whether the font used is either a Mac Font (although a search of the PDF renders NO fonts as being available) or whether the manual is infact just scanned pages in image format... Either way the Font does not display well on my Windows PC, even zoomed in. I hop

In the Menu it'll get to 99% beside Culture... Then it should flick to 12mths. It will only count down if you're not at war with anyone apparently. Also if you're culture fluctuates during this countdown, I.E. It becomes less than 90% of sectors, then the countdown starts again I believe. ~SDC~

It would be interesting in the future if any really involved MOD's appear (I.E. Conversion of lots of core rules/values and gameplay) and become popular, to have seperate areas of the metaverse for those MOD's... I know this isn't practical at present, but imagine the replayability of a modded GalCiv with popular branchings of MOD's followed by different fanbases.... (This is of course after GalCiv goes Platinum and becomes the top-selling PC game of the Century) ;)

This may have been asked already... But if GalCiv is modded heavily, I.E. the Advanced Terraforming Mod and some other funky ones that will change gameplay, then are we still able to submit our games to the metaverse? because we don't know the mechanics behind the scoring, wouldn't some of these Mods affect the score? (for better or worse) ~SDC~

I love it when u have a majority of influence in the UP, and they bring resolutions like 'restricting the number of modules on starbases in enemy sectors' or 'taxes for starbases in enemy sectors' ...Gets me grinning when I have culturally loaded bases spread over the map taking them out system by system. :) Feeble 'Good' Races! UP? Bah! ~SDC~

I will admit Star Pilot that at times SDC can be counter-intuitive. However, I have been using Object Desktop with Component Mangaer for awhile, and I upgraded to SDC before I bought GalCiv. Consequently I was already familiar with the program. Following instructions layed out in the e-mail I got from Stardock, I got GalCiv installed quickly and easily with minimum fuss, and it correctly recognised the updates. I really do appreciate the job that Stardock does, and I know ther

Bear with me in my story of woe.... :) I've been working my way up in GalCiv, started out doing a cakewalk getting to know the system... I decided it was time to try something a little harder. I set the Five races to Sub-Normal figuring this would still be a walk in the park, and on-top of that I set them all to 'Good' Societies. All my games to this point had been culture victory, so I figured I would do the same thing here... I start out and colonise a fair portion of the Galaxy,
