Any gfx enhancements for the combat view? Havent seen the DA version but the basic version looks rather bad. The Stardock guys handled that one. All the ship textures and weapons in Dark Avatar have been re-made with vastly improved detail and quality. There was no need to redo ship textures in my mod because the default DA ship textures are m

Hopefully you'll do GFX for all other planets eventually too... ALL planets that can be upgraded graphically will be addressed. However, the random "habital" worlds are just that, randomly generated by the game. They don't use actual images for their surfaces. Instead they use their Raw terrain maps. At this time, raw terrai

I believe all of us were agreeing with that....Although some of us are more oblique than others beleive me, my response was sugar coated from my point of view

33% ambient light is still a VERY high amount of ambient light. For the best visuals, i wouldn't recommend using more than 10%-15% ambient light. I myself don't use above 10%. Just for your information, you can get higher Anti-Aliasing in the game without using the in-game settings. To do this, open up the advanced options for your card and find the AA settings and manually set them (and make sure you don't select software controlled). You can also download a program like ATi Tray T

The CPU power option has absolutely nothing to do with any physical aspects of your CPU... Come on guys... Sheesh. All it means is that you're letting the game take more time to complete more complex calculations to make the A.I. more challenging. All it's going to do is slow down the time inbetween turns if you don't have a fast computer.

In my haste to complete the mod, i completely forgot to even do a surface for Korx. So here it is. P.S. KRYO, everything in the game's files leads me to beleive that the Korx homeworld was intended to be named Korlath. However, in the game it shows up as Korx (because the default built in race config is overriding the homeworld na

how do i do this in photoshop CS2 if you know in this program please. There are various ways, but the way i did it was to make a section of 10 colored squares below the raw map image, the first one being RGB 0,0,0, and the last being RGB 255,255,255, adding 25 or 26 each step inbetween. Then using the magic want tool, i would select one of the b

First off, you don't need to invert the raw map. You just want to make the oceans the darkest parts of the map, so they will not take up a lot of your "spaces" when you make the terrain color scheme. Here's how the raw map works. You have a greyscale image, using 256 shades of grey. I.E. every pixel in the image is one of 256 grey colors, from RGB 0,0,0 (black), to RGB 255,255,255 (white). Now when you make your terrain scheme, you enter a range, say 0.1 to 0.2, and the game selec

Logic, nice to see a such modest setup that is able to run the likes of GalCiv2. LOL' Nothing like being serious, is there?! Well i will say that my PC (it's not really a "PC" persay, but a Workstation) isn't just a gaming rig, it's my Workstation. It's what i use for all my DCC, 3D modeling, and graphics work (professionaly). So i b

I noticed the amazon release date too. Kryo, just to settle the inconsitancy there, what IS the official release date for Galciv 2: Gold, and Galciv 2: DA? For those of us who chose to preorder DA and have a CD copy sent to us, when would they be shipped? Oh, and has DA gone gold yet?

Ok i'm so confused now. I didn't think orbit had anything to do with the rings??? I thought the inner radius set how far away from the planet the rings start, and outer radius set where they stopped??

Actually, i take all that back, i'm actually wrong about being wrong. I thought i was right, and i am. Kryo, take a look at this screen cap, taken less than 5 min ago. This clearly shows Saturn's rings incorrectly sized, even though i have made no changes to the rings settings in customplanets.xml.
