Hey CC, like danielost, i've only seen this once, and it cleared after restarting the game. There was no battle (i'm familier with that effect), for me it happened after i created a game, went to the main menu, and started a new one with e different race (this is not reproducible). All of the polygon normals in the game were flipped, not just the planets, all the ships, stars, planets, etc... And they were all "stuck" that way, even when starting new games. However, as i said restarting the

Ah, so it's not just me! I noticed this a while back too. I've only seen it once though, and restarting the game corrected the problem. The problem isn't that it's invisible, is that all the polygon normals in the game become flipped, for some reason :NOTSURE:.

Thanks guys! :) As someone who was contracted from the outside to do some of the planet textures, it's nice to know that they've been well received and liked. Wait until you see them with the new randomization features coming in future betas!

Reminds me of the Xindi ;). And the Aeon... Kinda like Xindi-Aeon... Or Xiaeon :p. Let the Cleansing begin! All who abandon the path are evil! Spread The Way!

CC, you're going to love this twist... It gets weirder. So i made a ship in the ship designer, just playing around with the new animated parts right? Well i named it Animated whatever, the point is it started with 'A', thus it's the first ship in the list when you start a new game. I had forgotten this when i was testing it just now, and clicked upgrade before changing the ship to the "battleship" which was usually first on the list. So when i chose to upgrade my design, i

It's still crashing, both on my laptop and workstation :( (of course, only if i have 'remove functional components' unchecked. CC, you mean when you loaded MY save game and tried it, it DID NOT crash? How is that possible? Is there anything else i can send you? I already sent in a savegame, my prefs.ini file, my smart exception reports, and my debug.err file. I can generate all of those from my workstation and send them, that way you'd have a set from two different compute

Well not if you're not getting the crash! If you're not then it must mean my files are corrupt, or something else is going on. But if you are getting the crash, and it's reproducible (are you, is it?) then it's definately a problem that needs looking in to. Heh, sorry to say, but i hope it does crash if you try it :p, 'cause i don't want to have to think i've got a fraked up file somewhere, if it's a bug CC and Cari can squash it, if it's just me, that's more complicated and very u

Narrowed it down to unchecking "remove functional components". Once you uncheck that, you get a CTD like i said, at least over here on my end. I deleted the GC2TwilightArnor folder in My Documents, which reset all the preferences. I then played with the default prefs.ini file, not even changing the screen resolution, the game plays fine, no CTD as described above. But the moment you uncheck "remove functional components" under the "interface" settings, you get the CTD described above
convince me to buy this game......and answer me lots of questions!
The tone of your post is rather condescending and demanding. A bit of advice, and an old cliché: "You will attract more flies with honey than you will with vinegar."

Well there's nothing custom about the race config, it's the default config, and it's happening both on my laptop and on my workstation. I'm on my laptop again now, but i'll go ahead and grab a savegame, and re-generate a new smartexception report for you. UPDATE: I've narrowed it down to the prefs.ini file. Generating a new prefs.ini solved the problem, however the moment i put the old one back, the crash is in. So you might stick that prefs file in your system and see if yo

Well i'll be! :) If you need help rendering anything, drop me an email, i have a workstation with idle time at night... Err... Well... During the day when i'm asleep i mean. Yea yea, i'm a night owl, sue me! I work from home anyways! :p

I don't know if this has been suggested or not, but i'll go for it all the same. What about making it so that you can add military starbase modules to terrorstars? That way they become like a mobile military base, making them a very valuable (albeit extremely expensive) asset, even more so than a terrorstar alone. Just a thought...

Just a suggestion, but i noticed the rotation speed slider starts pretty fast (i know it's slow compared to the fastest setting), it would be nice to make the slow end of the spectrum a little slower than it is now. Also, though it may be my imagination, it appears as though once you actually build an animated ship and it's on the map, the animation speed is 1 tick higher when displayed on the main map, than it is in the shipyard.

Well gee! I thought it was since it was so reproducable you'd be able to see it happen over there! That's why i didn't bother with the usuals, DOPE! I should have been a lot more specific too, again i thought it was a super easy thing so i didn't spend a lot of time reporting it. I run the game with the debug tools enabled (for obvious reasons), as i imagine most of you do too. So this is how to reproduce the bug: Start a game as the Terrans (dunno if it's race spec
