There's a search feature on the web version, but it's a bit strange. It only search for posts whose subjects *begin with* a particular string. So a search on "trade" will bring up "trade ideas" but not "question about trade." myomer (I thought your name was mysnomer at first), I too would prefer that they spend their efforts on game enhancements. A few bugs I noticed during the last game: - During the turn in which I took over the last Arcean planet, I was still able to contact them in the diplomacy screen. It just seemed silly that someone would ask someone else to go through the effort to download, unrar, rezip and e-mail a file, rather just get the necessary utility themselves. ah, if you're smart enough to play the game, I think you should be able to figure out how to download Winrar and use it. Frankly, even if you don't use rar's very often, you should try winrar. It handles zips and is far superior to winzip. ~SDC~

I don't know how it will look on a palm pilot. - The numbers on the first couple of navigation pages indicate how many links are in the children pages. - This was based on JavaScout's web site about a week ago. It seems unlikely that the windowed version would use its own numbering scheme, though I could be wrong. Being a couple versions behind makes it pretty much useless IMO. It's just not worth giving up all the much-needed fixes that the latest updates give you. Perhaps they'll fold in the windowed code into the main version at some point. ~SDC~

Since there seems to be some secret reason why stardock won't set up a more capable forum, could you guys at least create new versions of the megathreads. The bug report thread can easily be compacted into a known/solved bug list. You probably already have a document like that. If it's not obvious, Honor, I don't think getting votes on a gamespot poll is going to make it any more likely that this work will be done, or more importantly, can be done. If a game that took that long to develop is as fundamentally flawed as people are saying, a patch is not going to be enough to fix it. A really big patch, i.e. a "free expansion pack", probably won't cut the mustard either. But, best of luck to them! We'd all like to see more good games. ~SDC~

I haven't read through those mammoth threads, but here's one thing I do. Obviously you can always put constructors in the military queue if you don't have anything else you need to build. If you don't want any of the available social upgrades b/c the maintenance cost is too high, you can still build them for a while but just switch out before they're completed. The amount you contributed is stored, so if you change your mind later (perhaps for a morale boosting item), you'll have it almost do

Which projects do you build, then? As a quick experiment, I took a save that had a lot of stuff built and tried destroying different combinations of stuff to see if I could pare it down to something that would be less expensive but still allow relatively the same amount of productivity/research. Regardless of how much I managed to save in maintenance costs, the drop in morale and the resulting drop in income would always be greater than the amount saved in maintenance cost. The main reason this board is a cluttered mess is the software being used. How can a company that is so responsive with updates be satisfied with a forum that makes discussion so difficult.
