Incidentally, I forgot to add this. While I fully support the GalCiv update model, I do have difficulties with it myself. Stardock is a great piece of software, but it would be nice if updates were also offered as separate downloadable .zip files. This would make it much easier for those of us who play GalCiv on a computer that's not connected to the Internet. ~SDC~

I think this kind of customer support and desire to improve upon a game concept is the only thing left that really separates the PC gaming arena from the console arena. It is this very aspect that has continued to draw me to the PC in recent years. In many ways, gaming is starting to go back to its roots on the PC, with dedicated individuals and small groups producing the kind of games that gamers wish to play, rather than games produced by committee for the mass market. I've downloaded GalCiv to my laptop, but I'd rather play it on my desktop at home. My desktop is not connected to the net. If I archive GalCiv using Stardock Central, how do I transfer this on my home PC? Do I simply transfer the zipped file across, unzip it, and install it? Or do I also have to transfer Stardock Central over and install it through that? ~SDC~

I'm also having problems downloading. First sign of problems were when the download size exceeded the target size in Stardock, but I left it running and it eventually finished about 5 minutes later. It then proceeded to install the program and asked me to restart. I did, but now I'm not sure how to start the program. There are no shortcuts on the desktop or the start menu, and the program directory in drengin.net/galciv doesn't have any kind of executable or batch file anywhere that I c

Forgive me for being unutterably stupid, but I need help. I purchased GalCiv online, and decided to download the main 86Mb program file while my CD dodges flying missiles on its way to Australia. Well, I typed in my serial number, got GalCiv on the drengin.net menu, and hit the "Install" button that came up when I selected the main program. 5 hours later, my C drive is 86 Mb worse off. Stardock whirred a bit, said something about installing the program, then restarted my comput
