oops, must be my slowest unit in stack is a 2. Why i liked organized, even a cost of 20. UPDATE: nope, he is a movement of 2 even when alone.
JimBones
I have a horse, speed boots, the magic item that adds movement, plus a movement advisor. Still only a movement of 2. What don't i understand??
Wow. I just downloaded MoM and MOO 1&2 and then the announcement hit. Brad should consider taking this service over, it is really good for old games.
Also, espionage spending helps eliminate certain bad events, unless you just reload if they occur :)
Combat transport maint is 6 in 1.05, transport is now maint 2.
Transports have maint 2 in 1.05 and combat transports are 6 now.
I'm at work so cannot check. How about some numbers?
I need to play a game or two quickly before the next update readjusts this. I have used populist + max diplomacy to great effect. 1400 bc income at 100%. It is great fun to win w/o fighting (this was my first time to do that). In all other games before GC, I always did military wins but the alternates in GC are also fun--I find the military victory the hardest one on large maps (only size that I have played) thus have never had one.
CariElfJim Bones: it worked when I tried it. Did you have a planet event that reduces planet quality?I saw no event but will check again but it really did not change from 14 to 15 in two separate tries. Did you try it on a pq 14 planet?
CariElf, I had a -4% pq that I forgot about so all is well with soil enhancement. My bad... Thanks
I'll have to reconsider my empire affiliation if Arnor is essentially dead. :notsure:
oops, wondered why Arnor was so dead, thanks :SURPRISED:
Title says it all. We should get a community going here.
I'm in for the upgrade beta. I want locking sliders asap so I'll sign up.
I have posted elsewhere to remember the "Birth of the Federation" development team that quit doing patches because they got so much hassle even when they did patch (let alone upgrade as is common with GC). The BOTF game remains partly unpatched to this day. Let's not assume that SD has infinite patience.

I had close relations with a declining race and gave them much help. When they surrendered, they went with their enemy. However, in other games, they have surrendered to me. No real pattern I can discern.
I colonized a pq 14 then rush bought soil enhancement and it stayed at 14. So 14 x 1.10 = 15.4 should round to 15? I loaded a save and reverified this.
Does the update replace the pdf in the GC directory? The date does not change on this file after running the pdf update.
I took over a minor in Drengin territory, then built a bunch of culture socials after it skulled until I had about 1100 to their 900 in culture. Still, after ~50 turns, the planet defected. My autosave just before showed I still led in culture and morale was high. Is this normal?
I have played 1.04 and did notice the change but still won on Normal. But I caution everyone to take it easy. Remember when the BOTF development team quit updating after a patch was lambasted. Several bugs and gameplay issues still remain unpatched 'cause the team got tired of abuse. P.S. I get most of my techs and trade goods by playing warparty acting weak and cleaning up when they eventually want peace.
Manual says they do, pick page doesn't mention. Are these extra bonuses implemented?
An option to speed up or slow down tech. Slowing would make each one more 'significant'.
Remember that MOO3 will still outsell GalCiv based on its position in the channel. Sad fact of life. I own it and got some fun from it but hope the patch wiol pep it up. GalCiv was easier to get into then strategy elements were my dominant concern vs fighting interface in MOO3.
They can begin to wear you down and replacing defenders then starts eroding research and so on.... Sometimes ally wars can be a pain so I really think before I ally.
I was one of the loudmouths over PQ15% (my crutch). But it really is just a "problem" if you do not want to change your strategy. I like to play the game as the designer sets it up so I always end up dl each upgrade. Once I adjust strategy (which i now try to view as fun) the game seems pretty much the same = fun, fun, fun...
