Any ETA on the expansion?

This may sound dumb, but until I read this I thought there was a third transport I hadn't got to yet! Glad that's cleared up! :D
I don't worry about the metaverse. I play GalCiv for personal enjoyment, not to compete against the world. As for low scores, I'll simply quote the Ferengi from Birth of the Federation: "Any victory is better than any defeat." :)
Yor and Alterians are my usual biggest problems. Especially the Yor. Somehow I always end up allied with them and then they stab me in the back. Never mind that I've come to expect it; they still manage to do it! :(
Yes. I wholy support this idea.
So much for lurking! I guess I have no willpower! :( Freya - That sounds interesting...I'll give it a try. :)
Good point, Freya. I usually leave the AI races on their default setting. I'm starting to feel like I'm dominating this thread so I'm going to just lurk for awhile! ;)
LOL I've done that on occasion. Costing the AI their survey ship early in the game can really set them back! I've had it backfire, as well. I get a bad "roll" and the computer get a great one, costing me MY survey ship! :sniff!:
Well, considering the amount of player imput that gets put into these updates, I say: BRING 'EM ON!!!!!! :D
Well, anything that gets the Dregin off the warpath, even temporarily(sp?), must be good to some degree. Is it just me, or are the Dregin the most warlike? You'd think from the race descriptions that it would be the Vor. After all, they hate all life! (Which is even wierder, as they almost invariably become allied with me at some point!) LOL
I'm all for this victory condition for the AI. Makes it even more "humanlike" in my opinion. I don't have a problem with being able to switch it off either. It's the mark of a good game that you can configure it to your own tastes/ability. The bottom line is FUN after all.
Rename enemy ships?!? I see a very petty form of revenge in my next game... LOL
Oops! The first part of my last post (#8) was in response to purefx (#5). (Sigh) If only we had an edit feature...
That's what I'm saying. You DON"T get that many if this event happens early in the game. Freya - I understand and agree with you, in theory. But sitting and looking at my computer screen while corvette after corvette uselessly suicides against a single ship doesn't fit my definition of fun. If they all attacked simutaneously then I would have absolutely no problem at all. My problem isn't the event per se, but rather the lost time involved. I don't always have alot of free time t
Obviously, they find so many because of the general tech level at that point in the game. I've found that closer to the beginning of a game far fewer corvettes are found. I think the best fix for this would be to somehow prohibit this event after a certain general tech level is reached.
Shooting him might be redundant, but much more satisfying than spacing him! :D
Good point. I should have seen that myself.
That's understandable. But it would give you a clue as to how the Dregin (for example) suddenly got a huge fleet if they were simply Vor ships in Dregin colors! I'm not asking for a change, the thought just hit me, is all.
I like Bobo. From what I've read on these forums, Bobo is probably the most level-headed of us all. Here's a complimentary banana, Bobo! ;)
Thank you. This will come in very handy.
Star Pilot - Are you sure the numbers are random? Maybe all the ships in the game are being counted. Example: You build Battlehammer 100, and then the Torians build Battlehammer 101. This would keep duplicate ship names from occuring when you sell or buy ships. Dunno if it works like this, but it would make sense.
Yeah, great idea! You not only get individual names but a reminder of ship class. Very useful if you're loading a saved game after a couple of days not playing. (real life DOES intrude, ocassionally! (:( ).
Hmmm...I just loaded my saved game and all of the ship graphics were fine AND visible. Kinda weird. Any idea what's causing this?
Outpost was remarkable for not having absolutely required features. For example: roads. You could mine all the resources in the world and couldn't deliver so much as one rock! Brad, I wouldn't worry so much. You have a VERY loyal fan/customer base. I know I've been promoting the game to anybody who will listen. You have no idea how remarkable that is. I'm one of those people who won't wear clothing with a logo because the company isn't paying me to advertise! But I freely and wil
I don't know if this has been mentioned (too many pages to read), but every ship after rangers that I research or buy the tech for has no graphics. The build queue picture is blank and there is no ship picture on the map when the ship is launched. The ships ARE there, however, just invisible. This only applies to me (ie humans). The alien civ's ships show up just fine.
