Hey guys ! I want to know when Sins of a solar empire will be released in Europe (Belgium). I have contacted my game provider and he said there wasn't any releasedate yet. grrrrrrrrr
It's been mentioned a couple times but they haven't got a publisher in Europe willing to sell the game. So the only way right now to get it is direct thru Stardock or if you can find a reseller that will import the game.

I've got an ATI x800 GTO with 256 megs but it's AGP. :SNIFF!: At least I've got 2 gigs of RAM. :CONGRAT:
Ummmm, I can't recall any recent game I have purchased that had a demo out *before* release. Demo's are usually out a couple weeks after release. Now granted I'm not a super gamer and only buy a couple games a year but just about anything new I've checked out has a demo *after* release. I just understand what all the fuss is about....
Big intervew on this weeks PC Gamer Podcast, #118. Talking with Blair and he really explains the game well. Good interview and it's pretty long too.
Just pre-ordered tonight. No idea if I'll like the game or not as I'm not normally an RTS fan but I think there is enough here for me to enjoy. Besides, I love supporting Stardock and if I don't like it I can give it to a friend who I know will love it. Either way Stardock (and Ironclad) gets a sale.
Some of you may not realize but it's been the same for other Stardock games like Gal Civ 2. $5 more thru Stardock directly and for the same reasons. Didn't hurt sales of any of those games. :D
So does Sins have a rich single player mode with a decent AI? I don't play multiplayer games so just checking to see if Sins would still be a good game for someone to play single player only.
So I want to clarify. I can order Sins for 5 tokens on TG and then I can pay $5 to get the Collectors Edition shipped once released?
So I've got a 2.8 ghz P4, 2 gigs of RAM and an x800 ATI card so I assume I'll be ok. :)
In my most recent game, I've generally stuck at around 500bc per turn, but I do have two economic resources with max modules going. My Navy consists currently of about 10 medium very well armed ships, 3 large very well armed ships, and about 20 small very well armed planetary defenders. Essentially I have about the strongest military.
This may be an effect on the lower difficulty level. A navy that size would be quite small in just about any game I've been playing
Could this be intentional? Could the developers perhaps be working under the assumption that running an economy at 100% should be the exception rather than the rule, and almost always result in deficits? It could encourage people to try to remain at peace and collect the "peace dividend", so to speak, while allowing economies to run hot for short periods (if you have money in the bank) to deal with short-term threats.
That may b
I agree, I thought econ and money available was just about perfect in the beta 3 series.
My flagship got stuck on an asteroid and nothing I would do could get it unstuck. Finally had to destroy it so the maintenance wouldn't get me.
So in the release notes it said that due to all the extra money ship maintenance was increased. All I want to know is, where is all this extra money because I'm not seeing it. Trying to build a decent fleet of ships to match the Drengin or Terrans is killing my economy. Just a couple dozen medium size ships and I'm paying over 500 bc! One large hulled ship is over 40 bc alone. Ouch. Luckily I'm playing the Korx and the Mercenary Academy along with super trade starbases are the only
As I mentioned in another thread: 1) Diplomacy - Unique techs are no longer flagged with * 2) Tech tree and tech details via right click - Unique tech no longer have a racial logo 3) Minors seem to be able to research any unique tech, mostly Arcean noticed (Weather Control for example) 4) Previously untradable techs can now be traded Probably related to the default tech tree change.
3) Racial logo's missing from the tech tree as well. 4) Minor just build the Innovation Complex. I believe this is a Terran only building? Looks to be most things I'm running into are tech tree related.
Playing the Korx if that matters. New Beta 4. 1) I've noticed that in the diplomacy screen when you click on money it doesn't always pull up a green amount that the AI will accept. About 50-50 so far. A bit annoying but not a game breaker. 2) And this is a biggy. In the diplomacy the indications that a tech is unique tech (the *) is gone and the racial logo when looking at a unique tech by right clicking is also gone. I've also found that races are trading around unique te
Cari posted in the Beta 4 notes that the Altarians and Thalans still need a bit of work.
SWEET! Just downloaded and will play all weekend.
And the fantasy game will probably be pre-ordered immediately if it will be anything like the old Baulder's Gate or Morrowind/Oblivion. The fantasy game's a TBS, not an RPG. And sins has already been in public (preorder) beta for a while now.
Cool, thanks. As for Sins, I'll need
Honestly, please take as much time as you want. I've been playing TA every week since the first beta and I'm having a blast. I usually burn out on the betas but this one I have not. Probably because each civ just plays so different. Move the release back to March or April. Sins comes out in a couple months and I'm waiting for a demo on that shortly after to see if I'll like it. Then TA can come out a couple months later. And the fantasy game will probably be pre-ordered immediatel
I like the Creativity chance to get a tech as it's something I've always chosen anyway and now I get a bonus for it. But I believe a couple things do need to be tweaked: 1) Just 1 point may be a bit low. Perhaps 2 points. 2) It needs to be disabled after Discovery Sphere. I won a tech victory last night and got each one of those expensive ones early based on Creativity. The last one had 40 turns to research. I got it down to 29 and bam, Creativity kicked in and I won the game.
I think a better solution would be another governor to say "empire wide, replace this building to this building".
That right there is a fantastic idea. We can already empire wide change ship production (i.e. all planets building Colony Ships should now build Defenders), the same should be available for buildings.
Thanks guys, just didn't want to think I was missing anything with the morale branch.
Maybe I didn't play long enough, but I didn't see the Korx having any race-specific buildings, either. I found them pretty flavorless. Their 'Super Ability' also seems less super the longer I think about it. It's not too far into the game where everyone at least knows Trade.
They do have some race specific buildings such as the Mercenary Academy and the one that makes trade rou
Just wondering if it's supposed to be this way. There is no Xeno Entertainment branch in their tech tree. I was able to trade for the first one, Xeno Entertainment and it didn't indicate that it was unique to other races or that the Korx aren't supposed to have it. I've had a hard time with morale without it other then lowering taxes unitl I was able to trade for it. However the AI rarely researches up this branch so it's hard to count on it being available in trade from game to game. <b
