***If you were a good empire, this dedication to moral purity be admirable. As it is I'm not sure what to call it I would call it evil.

It sucks when 2 or 3 AI gang up on you :sniff!:
I think there should have been a probably option :) I picked maybe because it would depend on: -what the features were -how much I was interested in playing galciv at the time -what other games I was interested in
I don't see what the point is to having "normal" minor races just pop up out of no where. Also I think minors should be restricted from having trade goods/wonders.
After I reinstalled I was able to submit to the metaverse, so I am happy now. :)
I have not been able to submit games, and I use a cable modem. I reinstalled, hopefully that will help :)
SMAC had a "blind research" feature where you could choose a general category that you were more likely to disover, but you couldn't pick specific techs.
Maybe I am just having a mental block, but there doesn't seem to be a way to flat out declare war on another race without actually attacking one of their ships. I wouldn't be surprised if there is one, but I just can't see it :p
My point was, if there was a seperate ranking for each difficulty level, what's to stop an expert player from submitting cakewalk games?
If player A is better than player B, player A will be able to get higher scores than player B if both play at the same difficulty level.
I have not purchased drengin.net I tried again today and it still would not submit. I got an error message and a pop up window with a bunch of y's.
What's an alpha strike? How is bribing the AI to fight each other cheese? Is it because they go to war too cheaply? ~SDC~
I just finished a game of 1.10A, but it isn't showing up on the metaverse. If I clicked on submit score more than once did that cause a problem?
The support for this game has been phenomonal.
-------------------- i also suspected that since i had recently erradicated an infestation of indigenous life. ------------------------ heheheh
I'm pretty sure taxes are charged by the government and not StarDock, maybe you should complain to them :)
Maybe starbases could be modified so production bonuses from multiple starbases in the same sector do not stack.
I'm not surprised that the drengins were friendly to you and then backstabbed. My experience with them is that once they are stronger than you they won't think twice about taking you out.
I don't think it's difficulty so much as the games played aspect of scoring hurts an empire of a small number of people who's played a lot of games versus a large group of people who've played fewer games appiece.
In the games I've played, eliminating the drengins is a top priority. Usually when I play they are the pop leader, and they are way ahead in military. Their economy is boosted by extorting everyone under the sun (hmm, that expression doesn't really apply here). :p To defend against them I build either defenders, battle-axes, or battle hammers. I don't try to launch any type of offensive campaign until I feel my colonies are secure.
The last game I played I was allowed a max of 10 trade routes, even though I had the technology for more. My trade attribute said +11. Is 10 an intentional hard limit or is it a bug?
I'd just like to know if this is intentional or an error/oversight/bug.
The different ai civs each have their own code.
I think the Torians were justified in being upset with you. If someone who isn't your ally builds up a bunch of ships right outside your planet, you should be upset with them. :)
GalCiv is a very different game from smac, but I would say that if you enjoyed smac, you should buy galciv.
