You could also use them as part of your army against a major (i.e. bribing the major to attack them). And then when their planets are ready for the taking just move those combat transport in. :D

Well...i hate to admit this, but i got my butt kicked yesterday. In this particular game i had i good starting position (got 6 PQ +15 planets in the land grab) I had decided that it would be an all militaristic game and had picked +70 pop and PQ +5 (populist). The plan was to use my supierior pop growth to take the AI's out with strategic strikes. The first 3-4 years where spend building up planets and getting to Battleship-tech. Meassured by planets (and

Based on the data you give it does sound a little weird. Just to be perfectly sure: You colinze a PQ 15 and above planet with 200 mill. pop and with taxes set to 0% you're morale on does planets are around 35-40, right ? If you want to, I will be happy to take a look at the save game to see if i can come up with anything. You can send me a zipped copy at [email protected]

This doesn't sound good (:( I'm pretty sure the income on the domestic screen updates as you shift the sliders between military, social and research (due to different production bonuses). The only 3 things i could come up with (if it isn't indeed a bug of some kind) are: 1) Loosing a trade partner (due to war, AI major or minor surrendering) 2) If you receive tribute from an AI and that stops (due to the deal ending or the AI surrendering) 3) If i finish a researc

I actually like the challenge the randoms events gives me. These events can turn a game i thought i had already won into a real challenge and thus make my games more interesting. Allthough i think the fundamentalist event is unbalanced. If you are playing evil alignment you can loose anywhere between 0-80% of your planets and there is nothing you can do to avoid it (other than change alignement). That alone keeps me from play evil. I think some kind of restriction on how large

This link describes Drengin.net http://www.stardock.com/products/drengin/
I think the Drengin.net subscription is good for 1 year
18 months actually
1) If I upgrade to Drengin.net does that mean if there are bug fixes to GalCiv and expansion pack or one of the other games after the year is up I won't be able to download it?
Probably. Since bug-fixes and feature-expansions have been released together (so far)
they'r
how to join empires
You click on the Metaverse tab (on the top of this side), choose "Top Empires" and then click on the Empire you want to join (say European Alliance :p ) and scroll to the bottom of that page. Then click join Empire. If you want to learn more about each empire, you can go to the Empire forum (on your left). There you will also find a sticky thread with links to websites etc. Don't be afraid to drop in on any of the threads to say hi

No that doesn't sound to good - the serial you have is that the same as the one shown when you click this link http://www.galciv.com/playerreg.asp I don't think they will ever change the the way the spending work (i.e. make you able to adjust for each planet)

Hmmm....don't kill me for asking, but have checked if your email address is the same as the one you registered when downloading Stardock Central ?
(I'm also praying that the whole waste system was fixed).
If you refering to the fact that you can't adjust spending sliders for each planet. I'm afraid this is left the way it has always been (I don't think it will be changed, since that require the AI's to do alot more thinking) Well i wasn't much help, I ho
It effectively curtails their use for culture attacks
It is now harder to culture flip the entire universe, which i don't think was intended to be possible in the first place (i.e there is a big difference between having cultural ownership of a sector and having influence enough to flip the system in that sector) I like it. Now i can't just grab any ressource i like i have to think about whether i need it or not.
