I wish people would document themselves. not just for FA. for just everything. Yet it seems that the common go-to choice is to assume one's right when one has become biased about something and say whatever comes to mind. PA doesn't have Vulkan or dx 12 yes but it is 64 bit. and it is multi core. not as multi core and multi threaded as it could be but hey at least it gets to keep the title. I would like for pejorative
Hello, Just wanted to point out that the current Fullscreen mode is in fact a borderless window. I would apreciate if there can be a True fullscreen mode. 1 of the reasons is that Multi-GPU tend to prefer that (mostly AMD as they cant do crossfire in windowed mode if this didn't changed recently).
Fullscreen is emulated because of some focus issues we're having in D3D12, basical

Disabling emulatefullscreen allows the game to actually get to the menu but then when you try to start the game it cra
We've had the DX12 version of the game and the benchmark for 6 weeks now, and we are all well aware of the decreased performance on nVidia cards. So what is the progress on this situation? I'm not aware of anything coming from nVidia on addressing the issue, nor have we heard any word from Oxide on any changes with the engine. I've read a few articles with he said, she said and technical mumbojumbo. What I want to know is, will it get better without hav
Hmm ok, but that still means that there are SOME HD activity while you're in-game, at least that's something. In this game I get most of the stutter / freezes when I zoom in or out as well as when scrolling around. This does not always happen, It stops after awhile and then comes back after awhile. This is in both DX12 and DX11 mode. However the reason I'm thinking this is probably
Aaaand bad news. It worked for a time, but then I decided to view a larger map. That didn't work. I adjusted the registry to expand the delay time to 8, much higher than I would like. This failed to make any difference. So try to play a small map again and now it will not work. The problem is the same as before. Of note: I had restart the computer and NOT played, so it
I believe it is streaming some texture data from the harddrive- I've noticed a bit of an increase in speed since I moved my steam install of ashes to my SSD. As always, take with a grain or a shaker of salt, and this game still is in very early beta/late alpha, so expect optimizations to be happening regularly. Also, as a side note, -please- get an SSD. Those system specs are great, but you're real
Be cautios when looking at numbers. They may be reporting average frame rates, which isn't very useful. It's possible there are some scenes where the I3 is at 80fps for a while which makes it look like it's faster. The number to look at is the heavy score - which is where the CPU is really under major load. It's like a pickup truck, what you really care about is how fast you can go when you've got your bed filled with stuff, not how fast you can go when it's em
What is your PC?
Ok, stopped and then recovered may very well be what I am talking about. We'll see if there is something we can do on our side. If this is what's going on. If you really want to dig in and try to fix it yourself, you can read this https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/Library/W
Changing mipstoremove to 2 made no change, nor did selecting a different map, I went from random to another 2 player one. The error I get is that the driver stopped then recovered, not a time out issue. I will say though that when I changed the mips to 2 I get a little more...I actually see the word loading at the bottom of the screen for about a second before everything stops. Found out that my AV is still
I bought the game last night along with a buddy and we both played the dx12 version fine along with a multiplayer game with the both of us until my client did an instant CTD without any error windows at all about 30-40min into the match.
Still failing. So I tried your modification of the settings INI file. However, problem. I have SkipMovie=0 or MipsToRemove=1 There is no MipsToSkip=1 so I cannot make the change. Should I add?
Sorry, no change MipsToRemove=2. Also, try a few different maps - especially the smaller ones. If it's a memory problem, I think we can do some things to hopefully address it
Can you try lowering settings? Sounds to me like a memory overcommit situation. How much RAM does your card have?
Being that this is a laptop, and only a couple of years old, the hardware should still be adequate and supported. However you are right. No this is not an "optimus" system, Dell XPS with 3D. On a side note, my firewall sent an alert that a file was an infection during the install. it was a game file. I will place this in the allowed list, then reinstall the game. Might be the cause.....might not (since
We will be supporting Vulkan. Like I said, we don't have drivers.
To rephrase, we don't have a fully compliant driver yet. We've made some good progress with Vulkan but the spec isn't yet finalized so it's very doubtful it will make it in time for Ashes Release.
Hello, I was wondering if there is some type of setting I need to apply to get crossfire working with Ashes of The Singularity? Crossfire works on the DX11 but not the DX12. I only have one of my GPU's working during the DX12 version of the game. I can only assume the game is so new that either the developers and or AMD has not released any updates or drivers. My system specs are: AMD FX 8350 4.4ghz. // Asus Crosshair v Fo
Hi everyone, just wanted to say that thanks for being founders. As we roll out the DirectX 12 build, I wanted to mention that there is a known full screen issue in DirectX12. Basically, if alt-tab it's going to crash. Uh, so maybe bug? I prefer the word issue so as to sound like we aren't doing something wrong ;) We're working with Microsoft on it and we think we've got a handle on it.
A properly multi-threaded application is going to benefit from hyper-threading simply because it can utilize the extra logical cores just like it can the extra physical cores. The real world benefit seems to be around 10%. Hyper-threading will do absolutely nothing for a single threaded application, and many report worse performance with it on, than off. As dx12 is supposed to be fully parallel, it sho
