Quoting Frogboy, reply 104 It seems like SupCom fans have Planetary Annihilation to migrate to. That's not correct. Planetary Annihilation developers turned SupCom fans down entirely the same way as AotS ones, by embracing orientatio
Instead, I'd rather break down into what precisely makes it feel too slow. Does it take too long to engage the enemy? Are units unable to disengage before they are destroyed? Are maps too big?
Alright i can agree with that line of thinking.
Does it take too long to engage the enemy?
Yes, i think by the time i reach the enemy im
It might just be my memory but I do recall TA being and/or feeling "slow", especially compared to other games in the genre. That may just be my faulty memory. But like I was saying I think smaller, lighter, cheap and battle-ineffective/inefficient "recon" units are definitely worth a look, the overall speed of the current units in the game feels ok for what they are doing. I think there's a sort of "rec
I think units and buildings are 50% too big.
Well i get that you can reduce the size and probably make the units themselves feel faster, but feeling faster wont change how much time it takes for the player to reach an enemy base and actually do some damage. It also wont change the fact when units are figthing theres 0 micro potencial while using missile skirmishers for example since they move at the same speed as everythin
What? im sure there is only tier 1 engineers right? After you have captured like your first 1-2 computronium regions giving enough power and having some reactives available you can make an advanced factory with the first tier engineer.
I agree with you X-Astra that the pacing of the game isnt that bad, you get a couple tier 1 units expand, go into tier 2 make a couple fleets with meta-units expand some more and get capitals. "They are going for a more Total Annihilation/Sins of a Solar Empire feel, not a Starcraft II/Command & Conquer feel." To
Well i like engineers because they can support factories making units faster and its a mobile unit. I think the main issue is how slow they are making them painfull to use.
I know its not that loong but i have played 4 hours in total so far, and i feel forced to make factories ever closer to the frontline because stuff just takes too loong to get there. And ColaColin is correct units need to be sped up, especially if they want larger maps. And i couldnt agree more with this:"The units don't all need to be super speedy, but currently they are way too slow. Not all units need to be faster, but there need to be some at least." <a id="ctl
Hey id like to start by saying that the game runs good on low to medium graphical settings on my laptop nvidia 860m, iam quite happy about that ;) I still think its early to tell but from playing a couple games, there is some feedback i would like to give: 1- I wish i could force attack units inside squads, most of the times units are in range but since the overall squad isn't my units won't attack, and sometimes units themselves get seperated from their
Yeah even though the presentation for AOTS was short it looks like the game looks great in terms of graphics.
Well on this website`s store page it says "All game code will be delivered through Steam when available." go look it up ;) That is why i made this thread to know what this means exactly.
Hi iam about to buy a founder`s pack mostly because im interested in the game itself, but as a programer the fact the engine code will be released excites me. I would just like to know what do you mean by game`s code is it the full Engine`s code including shader`s parsers ui code e.tc...? if so, that is awesome.
I will wait until i play the game before giving judgment. 3D models size and apearance. I think that PA and forged alliance have one of the worst 3d graphical differentiation of units at high zoom levels. Most units textures are 100% covered in team color. And its hard to distinguish a sniper unit inside a blob of tier 1 tanks or tier 1 bots, they do look good and cool but not functional from a distance, Total annihilation on the other hand had an average amou
