You are right, multiple threads have been created on this subject, and ive supported for increased responsivness in every single one of them, About the discrepancy, from what ive noticed its more the actual shot or projectile taking time to do damage rather than it doing damage before it hits. Lazers for example, in theory a unit should already be dead but its being targeted by 10+ lazer units, its only after awhile that it receives damage and explodes.
I agree on the slowly paced early game, but that's solving an issue like killing a roach with a jet bombing run. I forgot to add that the worst part of this "risk taking" strategy is that if it fails you might as well surrender immediatly. It does not make the game more interesting to the opponent realising he's severly behind by not commiting to it as well as there's nothing fun on deafeating your enemy who got staggered
I really see no problem in having this strategy be viable, if anything they just need to make rushing a factory more viable than what we have currently. Maybe reducing its build time a bit i dunno. I find this style of openers cool because it speeds up the early game, and on a game that was super slow to get going because of neutral creeps, we can now stand neutral creeps because of this style of openers. You dont wanna get back to the posts complaining neutral creeps slowing
Stability, optimization, and UI To me those are my biggest concerns with the game.
;) campaign yay.
I wrote a long post debunking everything you said, but i considered it pointless to continue bickering, ive played PA from the start, i know how that game and its community went downhill, no point in bringing it further, plus i had a question mark in there, but who cares. Also i was top 4, Uber ranking on that game for about a month when the game had elodea and clopse playing activly, ive had my taste of the top level play of that game. Point was dont overpromise and do not ta

But rather, the people who publicly suggest that other people should go out and get those other games as if they are viable alternatives for people who aren't familiar with those games already. I cannot take serious a AI in a ranked game, they just suck right now. Here is my idea , what about keep the AI in Ranked games ti

Guides are always welcome. But i wouldnt mind them just telling us some random things like how to acess these meshes, since the textures files are already easily editable. Granted there isnt any kind of propper mod folder, and from what i can see we are directly changing the games assets.
I know its probably too early, to be doing these questions. But i have been looking at the Assets folder, and i obviously found the easy to acess .dds texture files, and they are mentioned in the .Pallete files which is just a regular .txt file. I was wondering about the .MeshDesc that show mesh names and material names, but i cannot seem to find where they are exactly located. More complicated Mesh descriptors(i think thats what their called anyways) almost look like
Seems to be working, frame-rate around 50-60s dipping into 40's/30's.
From matchmaking data we know that right now even if any human is matched against any human it won't help much. People don't sit in the queue long enough to get matched so players miss each other. When Ashes is officially released we'll see lots more players. If we open up matchmaking to all human players regardless of rank there are issues. A Rank 8 player is just getting out of the
I don't know about ranked, initially anyway, but I liked the idea of being able to select it in custom games. Out of habit I just play it at Normal and am OK with that but if some friends like it faster that is OK too.
Well ranked has to be played at a single speed, otherwise it looses its significance as a rating tool. What i was talking is having a speed option when hosting non ranked multiplayer games.
There are some pretty persuasive arguments in this thread. While it is always tempting to stick to ones guns for the sake of being resolute, I must admit that it might work better to let people who have progressed reasonably through the rankings to be ranked up with higher level players.
Just make sure if you wanna keep the AI in there, at least let it be more chalenging than it is right now.</p
Tatsujib: No, the whole game kinda feels like it is running at a very low fps even if it isn't, Andre_B: You can do it for offline skirmish but not in multiplayer games even if you're playing with friends (correct me if I'm mistaken). I don't really understand why it would be like this as I can't be the online person who doesn't enjoy playing against the AI except for when learning the

Theres a speed option for skirmish. But id like it to be an option at least for teamgames, so the devs can see which speed people play the most.
