Was playing around with the map editor, and sometimes, it just quits. I assume this is some kind of crash, but, got no detail about it, or what caused it. Wasn't trying anything big, just some simple tinkering. So, anyone know how to report this, if there is no actual crash, it just quits to desktop, and it happens randomly. This is on a 8GB machine.

I hope the future DLCs will flesh this out.
It depends on what you mean by DLC. If you mean the DLC where publishers milk more $$$ from people just because they can, then no, it shouldn't be DLC to fix the base game... This game needs patches to fix AotS and bring it

It'll be $3.99. The revenue from these DLCs is what pays the artists who are in turn working on new units which is the next stopic. 1- New units are part of the Premium DLC? that will be bad for the community.<b

I wouldn't judge a game just by online player count, however, this site tracks things better IMO. https://steamdb.info/app/228880/graphs/ 158 on right now seems to be pretty good chance of finding someone.
Players online 158 right now 207 24h peak 739 all-time peak <em class="tim

Here's 10 off the top of my head and I won't even count the AI or the fact that the game can handle thousands of units which in itself is a pretty big deal when we're talking about a large scale RTS.
I can list any number of criticisms I have for Ashes. But suggesting it's somehow unfinished because say there isn't a separate volume slider for the voice announcer is absurd. StarCraft II doesn't have such a slider either. Is StarCraft unfinished? The point is, these arguments aren't persuasive other than suggesting that some people in the RTS market are out of touch of where things are today. &n
Rather that derail this thread anymore, I just made a new thread.
In reading this forum, it seems the devs / stardock staff go out of their way to try to get "better" reviews or counter their perceived "low" reviews scores without looking at what pretty much all those reviews are saying. Looking at http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/ashes-of-the-singularity for user reviews, it pretty much shows that, AotS is a average game. <p
definitily one of the best reviews out there
Seriously? This seems to follow most of the higher scoring reviews, they gloss over the glaring issue AotS has, and are in awe of DX12 capabilities, and how the nitrous engine uses it. Yes, it is impressive that you can have tons of units on the screen at once, yes, the battles are pretty cool (well, all but the explosions) but, that doesn't make a
Frogboy, I am really curious, are those the only RTS games that you have played that you listed in the table you made? What made you pick those particular ones to compare AotS to? I see lots of notable RTS games are missing from your table, I know it would be impossible to list all games as shown here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_real-time_strategy_video_games so, just curious as to you

Without the UI scaling limit important elements of the UI would be offscreen at high scaling / low resolution. The UI is sized such that 1.0 scaling fits a 1080p (1920x1080) scr
I doubt it. It takes a lot of system resources to make even tiny maps, with moderate detail settings I can easily saturate 16GB of RAM. I have a AMD video card in one machine, and a nvidia in the other. The nvidia one has issues, so I blame their drivers.
Is that why the voices are so quiet? Sheesh. [e digicons]:annoyed:[/e]
Why do they impose a limit in the first place? It should be up to the user what they want, and if it is above 1.0, then fine, throw up a disclaimer. It would also be better if people could move the UI windows around...

Those that want to see what is going on, here are the save games. https://www.dropbox.com/s/f4ejhkwtqwfk5ky/Saves.7z?dl=0 I used 7zip, and those need to be put in your ..\My Games\Ashes of the Singularity\ directory, in the saves. AutoSave 1.AshesSave (2:15) time is when this huge bug first appears. AutoSave 2.AshesSave (2:25) time is a bit further. Remember, the game will act like it is frozen, but, it is NOT, it will come back to life after X mins
Verification said all is fine, and verification DOES check all files, not sure what that other person's issue was, but, since I tried it on another machine as well, this isn't a corruption issue for the game. Tried in on a DX 12 machine as well, same save game file, same results. It definitely is a bug of some kind. Note, I am NOT saying *all* save game files, I am saying THESE save game files cause AotS to do whatever, not responding to anything
Loading the save game makes it crash and or not responding for long periods of time as well.
This is a bit odd, I was basically at the end game with beginners AI, and had them cornered, then I made a ton of quanta gens, and was playing around with all the extra options. Well, all was well until I started to move into their base for the final engagement, and it would freeze (Not responding) for say 5+ mins, then come back for a CPU utilization is only at 38%, and
DLC wouldn't be a good idea, since that causes MP fragmentation for those that have the new maps/units/whatever vs the ones that don't. In fact, DLC as a whole is such a crap idea, that I disdain games that have this money grabbing ploy. More than half of the DLC for other games should have shipped with the game in the first place. Pretty much all early adopters know what they are getting, there is no need to offer them something other than "thanks", how
