Is there any way to tell what race have started trade routes with me? I know the Dregin are senting freighters but my trade screen only shows routes I created. It'd be nice to know how much trade money I was getting from them so I can weigh up whether or not to crush them:)

"nope, in a game i played this morning, the 3 alexians sector defected to me in the first 5 turns" Lucky! I've won by culture twice and had minor races right next to my main Culture sector and never have them defect.
I've researched it in my current game. Not that it helps, the UP limited me to 2 trade routes :(
I'd use TFN too, I always call my empire the Terran Federation :)
" The initial presets of tax/spend is 33%/50%. Which means you are trying to spend more then you get in tax." Really? I thought the spend rate was the amount of you tax that went straight to building stuff. If that's the case then I'll have to change how I fiddle with the sliders.
Up untill today I thought minor race's planets would never defect due to culture, but today one of my planets defected to join the I-League and then cultured back to me. Is the I-league a special case?
Random events can still make you go to wa when you are at high intelligence levels, is there no chance of them at all when you have advanced?
I played and won my first game at sub-normal. Pleased with myself I bumped all the AIs but to normal and got my ass handed to me. After a week of playing at sub normal and losing at normal I'm finally winning in an all normal game. So yeah, there's quite a difference between sub-normal and normal.

Erog, this is not the only thread with bad posts in it. However, I only said the rabid fanboys were as bad as each other, I made no comment on the amount of said rabid fanboys on either board.
On the diplomacy screen the I league has no report, it just says "String not found".
So anyway, the above is my attempt at mixing bug reporting with humor, surely an they are not meant to be allied to themselves?
In just about every game I play the Altarians ally with themselves. This can't be healthy, they'll probably go blind and get hairy palms.

Since we've already argued about moo3 over there I'll just say I still think Moo3 is a good game and that this thread proves rabid galciv fanboys are just as bad as the moo3 ones :)

Maybe they put the money they owed you into the galactic bank for them to pay you your 50 each month. That way payment can continue after the race is dead.
Of course, a Dyson Sphere takes an awful lot of material to build. Maybe you could find a system with a lot of poor planets, break them up and use their mass to build the Dyson Sphere but seems like a lot of expensive work. All in all I think Dyson Spheres are ringworlds are a bit too big for GC.
You can trade them on the diplo screen. They are under trade goods on your side.
They need better names, "Terror Star" makes me cringe.
I like Moo3 and galciv. I think I like Moo3 more over all but I just got galciv so it's getting more playing time ATM.

The problem is the patches aren't updated as often as SDC, only 1.01 is there so far. Oh well. It'd be nice if you knew what the UP would be voting on beforehand then, so you knew if it was worth buying votes or not.
Questions first: If I install SDC and download updates with it does it just download into a folder or does it try to update the game? I have GC installed on another pc so I need to download on this one then transfer it accross. When you buy influence from another civ how long do you keep it? I was pleased with owning 51% of the votes untill it dropped back down to my normal level again before the next meeting. Is the any warning about when the united planed will meet? If not th
