Indeed scenarios that include events with possible triggers etc. would make GC a long time favorite for many years to come. More so then it is currently. I would love to see the ability to edit the diplomacy responses, and possibly add more to them. It seems very limited for producing quality interactive scenarios. This would improve the general game play as well IMHO. :) ~SDC~

This is outstanding information I sure hope Stardock notices your excellent work and possibly include your wonderful event writer with the game when it is done being beta tested. Unless of course they already have one in the works. The UI and the program in general has been done very well. I will compliment you once more for your program and efforts. On behalf of the entire community we all thank you. :CONGRAT: Now if you could only provide some help thinking up ideas for creating th
I would give up trying to say how your game was, that dude will argue with you no matter what you say you seen in your game. Quite funny the way ego's in these forums fly back and forth. What is the point to be right all the time. Come on. LOL Good humor anyways thanks guys. ;) ~SDC~
Really I found out those numbers are how much luck you have. That is what the manual said anyways after finally finding it. I tried traditional attack and it kept failing. Detonation and tidal surge or whatever is the only thing that works quickly to take planets. Otherwise I used up about 5 transports on one world. I am sure I am not doing something right. :) Thanks for the help guys. ~SDC~
I am just now for the first time invading planets of another race. I checked the manual and did not see any details on how this is done maybe I missed it. When you do the traditional attack, what is the number that pop up that you hit the spacebar to set? Do I go for a high number or low number on the left side? I tried to attack with gas once and really nicked the planet quality. Wondered the best approach to this, I seem to be thwarted each time with traditional attack hitting spacebar at hig
There are several threads on the subject already. Not to mention there is a program released recently that will help you create ships. Little buggy but better then nothing. There is a tool being released on MOnday I hear from Stardock ppl that will work for us to create ships. Good luck. :D ~SDC~
I seem to have missed Class #1? I am enjoying your classes they are helping me get started understanding how everything is done. I am now beta testing a writer though. I still hope you keep up with your classes you are doing a great job and a good service to for the community. :D ~SDC~
I was wondering if the people submitting mods to the library could PLEASE zip them properly. 5 of the mods up create new folders in my directory. There is no need to zip up your entire GC directory folder structure. There are only a few like this, and not that big a deal to do correctly. I hope this is not asking to much from anyone. It is a pain to be forced to dig through the folders and move them to the correct locations. Myself I never locate my games in the program files. I have a game fol
In a worst case scenario your 80-100% morale planets will decrease to 1-20% morale and loose many worlds due to being under a Federation goverment like I was. I had to uninstall of course and revert back to 1.02. This is the best game I have had to date on sub-normal. A friend of mine recently bought the game and played it for a while using only the 1.02 version. He could not get on SDC to update. Later once SDC was back online he updated. He too experienced some rather bizzare glitches and rei
Check some of the fansites that are popping up if you want that style of listing. Some of them are using forums to list the files, with pictures, complete descriptions. I perfer the neat nice looking library layout myself, the newest mods are at the end I would think. I would not think that the fansites will list all the files that are at the GC site but maybe the new ones. I know most of the fansites if you care for a list e-mail me. [email protected] :p ~SDC~
I am wondering what game you played to make that statement? I find GC to be very interesting and a vast array of completely different tech. The AI on each level is a totally new challenge, not to mention each and every game is completely unique so far. I have some small gripes but none about boredom at all. That is just silly, unless great strategy games are not really your taste of games. I am a chess player, and this is one hell of a chess style game at higher levels. The AI is the best in th
Get used to it guys, this company is really the best I have seen in many many years with support. They seem comitted to making the game the best it can be by listening to what we want. I bought Moo3 after never playing any Moo game before. A friend who had played Moo1 and 2 said it will be really good. Turns out we were both let down with the game and the support. Here we got the best of both worlds, a great game, and excellent support. LOL ~SDC~
Here is one better anology of if you like this game you will like GC. If you like strategy games, example chess, and/or enjoy the TBS genre in general like the excellent civ series that stumbled with civ3. SMAC and SMACX are my all time favorite Sid game. They are very close in theme, but the big difference is the AI. The AI are basically dumb in all the other games I mentioned (aside from chess of course). In GC the AI are probably the most intelligent of any game to date. They have the abilit
Hey it is at the top right of my screen. ;) Sorry.. had to say it. LOL ~SDC~
I understand that the minors cannot be in the UP etc. But if they can attack you and the other races we should have the ability to spy and destablize when needed. I had a game where the I-League just decied to declare war on me. They rebelled against the Altarians and formed like 5-6 worlds. They were way advanced compared to me, and my morality was not that good from making some rather bad choices. This was my 2nd game, I wondered why my UI had turned a blood red, and this wierd satanic demon
It is REAL easy if you read the messages on registering etc to use Stardock. I moaned and groaned myself about it I now feel like a real ass. I was being anxious and I now understand completely why someone said the same thing to me. Frogboy is right it is that simple, or if you want to be up to date now, use SDC. Register, click on software. If you do not see the updates, no sweat click on tools menu, refresh application or click on view and refresh. Either way it will bring up the newest patch
I agree with you Code Monkey for what it is worth. That is the only part of the UI I do not like. :) ~SDC~
Yes I agree with Morpork. Especially since I just saw a rather in depth review at Orion Sector with pictures of cut scenes that I am missing. I have many scenes but not the different ones I saw in the review. I do not know exactly what ones, but one I recall is when I settle my first planet. The reviewer showed a pick of a cut scene that I do not seem to have. My version is only text on the screen nothing more. After my current game I will check it out myself. :) ~SDC~
Great news Frogboy I will tell my friends who are wondering about demo before buy. These are some who do not like TBS normally but love great strategy games. You guys made one of the best IMHO especially the AI are superb at higher levels. :d ~SDC~
Initally I too found it hard to use SDC. After I figured out what I did wrong I just love the program. There should be some more clarity on the registration part, and that all you do is click on "software" on the left of the screen and there the updates are. If they do not show up just refresh using the tools or view menu's. No one seemed to explain it to me in any e-mails before. I use the SDC everytime I browse messages now it is excellent peice of work. No spyware is what I like the most. Fr
If you modded the game the metaverse will not allow you to post your score. This is to keep balance for the scoring. Otherwise someone might get a higher score just because of it being heavily modded. I think elsewhere it was said they may consider adding a mod metaverse, or maybe it was a request for one not sure really. :d ~SDC~
I can tell all MOO players this game will not let you down at all. I bought Moo3 on advice from other moo2 players. I was horribly disappointed by it big time. Galactic civilizations is the best game I have played in many years. Moo players and civ series players will love this game for sure. A demo would be cool but give it a chance and you will be loving it just as much as I do. This is one of the most addictive games I have played to date. IMHO :d :D ~SDC~
I will throw in my two cents to Frogboy and his team. You guys are outstanding to say the least. The initial post that I am replying to has said it all no need to say any more. The game itself is excellent, the support just blows me away. I had been modding for civ3 and was dismayed how they refused to fix problems or listen to the community. I am dedicated to GC now it just is such a great game backed by a great company. GC has a great community of dedicated players and mod designers. I thank
I personally love your efforts at Java Scout website. It has helped me improve my game quite a bit. I hope you add something on creating the events etc. That would be really cool if you could add that to your wealth of information already there. Thank you for the time you obviously spent creating it. :d ~SDC~
I notified the FBI about that scam where you pretend to be someone your not and they will reward you $250,000.00 plus if you go along with it. THe FBI agent that contacted me said, do not open the e-mails or reply. They have bilked people around the world (especially the US) for over 1 million in cold hard cash. They require a small investment as a retainer from you to process the case. If you open the mail it sends them a receipt that you opened it. This prompts them to continue spaming your a
