Exploits like these are the same as cheating to get high scores. All of these exploits should be fixed if they are not already. IMHO not to spoil your party though, each too their own thing I say. LOL ~SDC~
Cosmic Fox
Um, can we say major cheese BUG! WOw I heard of exploits in a game but this is a real big one. I will not do things like that to spoil my already entertaining and challenging game. Thanks for the info, maybe SD/Frogboy will fix that kind of thing from happening again. :) ~SDC~
I did not see any topics on this right off. I would like to hear some opinions on this. I notice that most of the high scores obtained on the Metaverse are from an evil morality alignment. I know there are some really good players who do not seem to go this route. What I am about to give up on is being able to get the high points by being nice. It seems to get me no wheres fast in this game. :D Any suggestions on sticking with a generally peaceful good guy approach and win? I assume influence
Here is a perfect example of not being abled to please everyone. This is one complaint I thought I would never ever see in a game forum. STOP UPDATING GC LOL This sure is not a problem at all for me, 1.03 rocks compared to 1.02 the fixes and changes are perfect. I say go find one of those other TBS games to play, everyone here knows several that lack the GREAT support that Stardock, Frogboy & crew provide. I would feel real weird posting such a comment it is just ridiculious statement to make
I agree on sliders for governors it just makes sense just to chime in. I do not see any other way to do it really. Of Course Code Monkey would know better then the rest of us being with the game as long as he has. :d ~SDC~
The official Empire for CDG has now been created. CDG Creations League is looking for Overlords to help us get into the frey. Here is our link to join if your interested. :D :d http://www.galciv.com/metaverse/empires.asp?id=264 We have set up Galactic Civilizations forums at CDG as well. We fully support modders, players, come check us out for yourself. http://www.cdgroup.org/forums/site/main/portal.php Building gamers communities too support our favorite games and companies. :d
Okay good news I sure wish more people would come on over and see the forums.. Only 4 have shown up so far.. Oh well. Thanks for joining our group! :D ~SDC~
I have played around with your excellent writer. It seems to work like a champ. My event ideas are not quite to good though. How about an event idea prompt with suggestions? No I guess not! Seriously, your program allows me to just concentrate on making the mod. Not worrying about the format etc. Just fill in the fields save it off and your done. :p :d ~SDC~
We may be experiencing some minor technical issues please try it again. Not sure what is wrong yet, the site does not seem to know who I am today. Elucidus will find the problem and correct it later today sometime. Sorry for the inconvenience. :( ~SDC~
I did not see any threads on this subject at all. I was wondering if Frogboy or someone from the dev team could give us some sort of criteria for making mods that could/would be certified to allow score submission to the Metaverse? I am sure at some point you will find a way to address those people who love adding mods to the game the ability to submit scores to a metaverse type scoring system. For now I would like to create a series of mods that will not stop you from submitted to the metavers
There is no way to stop common pirating of any product. It is in a sort a hobby for some of these pirating groups. I know this for a fact I used to run a BBS system online for about 8 years back in the 80's out of New York and Florida it was called The Atari Connection for the Atari Computer Line. We had a users group with like 200 members, we routinely traded programs among ourselves. At one point a new member who was working for GE as a chip designers discovered ways to copy the games that we
You can take the Evil Do'er route and demand tribute from all races. You will not be real popular and your game interface will turn blood red and you will be serenaded with nice pleasant Demonic Satanic type music. LOL I acccidently turned evil in one of my games I decided to quit. It was just to errie for me too keep playing as evil person. I bet it is just me who has a problem with being evil. ;p I seem to enjoy wiping out the evil in the galaxy rather then being one myself. :D <BR
If you have added any mods (accept the one certified by Frogboy dangerous Animals) the score cannot be submitted. I read some place that if you reload your game over and over when some bad event occurs you will not be able to submit your score due to cheating to obtain it. I am not positive on the last one but I am sure someone will correct me. :D ~SDC~
I too like this idea myself. My website is creating an Empire shortly (once I finally finish my current game using mods with 1.02 :p) we will only have 6 players or so in the beginning. The way we see we have no chance at all too catch any of the top 10-20 empires at all. With 20 players per Empire it would mean that the top spots would change quite often allowing more competitions to take place. The main reason for the metaverse that excites me is how the AI will be able to download info on th
The tech explains that it would take all the energy in the entire solar system or universe to create one, making it next to impossible to do so. :) :) ~SDC~
I think that we all were used to other systems and methods for getting updates. I was caught off guard myself, acted like an ass and posted like some of you guys have. It is not Code Monkey's fault, nor anyone that you are unable to take the time, relax, take a deep breath whatever it takes, and read the messages on how to get the updates. The ability to get these updates is a convenience for the players of the game nothing more. I am glad that Code Monkey and others handled you all complaining
I have been promoting GC every place I go. I post many reviews and interesting tidbits pertaining to upgrades on the site to. I always point everyone to this wonderful site for further information or to buy it. I plan to place a link directly to Stardock central and encourage people to check out your products. There is only one reason I am doing this, you guys not only offer updates, you listen to the community of players. Your excellent policies are what make the game exciting. Most
Simple amazing I will second that once more. If I did not like the game, (I Love it!) I would keep doing business with you guys simply because your support is the best I have ever seen. Been around this stuff for a long time as I stated before. Even your PR is top notch, and we interact with the CEO. How much better can it get? LOL ~SDC~
I updated to 1.03 after I had one of my best games going from version 1.02. I loaded my game right afterwards to be shocked with all my 80-100% morale planets down to 1-20%. I backup my savegames and uninstalled the game. Reinstalled it and it worked perfectly I am still playing the same game. I removed the folders that were left manually as the game left some of the data & gfx folders intact after the uninstall was complete. I hope that helps you out. ~SDC~
Hey a really helpful message that is a benefit to the user no comments that are insulting. I like too see that since I have been in customer relations for quite a few years. Thanks for proving I was wrong Code Monkey I take back what I said. Have a good one! :p ~SDC~
Have you updated the game yet? If not go to the main website (galciv.com) click on downloads, grab the new version there 1.02 along with the bonus pack, it adds more events, some other things. If you installed the Star Dock software there is more updates at Star Dock Central. Version 1.03 patch, updated bonus pack, updated multimedia, and updated manual. I hope that helps you a little. :) ~SDC~
I think you mean problems downloading, not uploading as the subject states. Would maybe get more responses if you had the subject line correct. No offense just a suggestion. ;p If you use the SDC software to update it should have worked fine. All of the new parties will show up properly. I guess you had to as the 1.03 is only accessible with SDC Browser. :D ~SDC~
I just recalled I had the same message from the Altarians once. I guess they are all active then correct? Thanks again I love this stuff. LOL ~SDC~
Hey those are some cool things you found kind of an easter egg type of thing. I will have to link my forums to this one for sure. Thanks for sharing that have to find out how too make it work in an actual game. :D LOL :d ~SDC~
I had a game where a minor race had super powerful ships in general that I could not compete with. Even though I was slightly ahead in technology. I read some place that the battle calculations are based on what tech level and luck you have at the time. Not to much about extremely different offensive capabilities. True you can it seems buy your way out of every single war. Keep in mind though that the race may not keep the peace. I paid the Altarians 5000 BC once to end the war against me I was
