maybe they will do the work for us
Problem is that those MWC missiles tend to be fired in scatterpack swarms and are pretty indiscriminate when it comes to targets. Anything nearby gets it. Don't let those Euros get too close or it might be a real busy month in the Jedi Republic's repair yards. :)

Now I know where some of those Yor that were taken from my lab went! And they even upgraded themselves. (Nasty Yor habit. Always trying to build themselves worthy of a better caste in the machine society.) Honestly, I am impressed. Totally and thoroughly impressed. :CONGRAT: The only other thing I feel need to mention is the averaging system needs work for games/month in the individual empire and player records. When zooming in for empire or player stats, it is currently counting the en
Slitherin got his scores legitimately and he wants to be with us.
Oh, so now you Evil Ones try to change the rules on me, ey? First it was about honor, a battle you wouldn't have done well in without this newest revelation. Now it is about fairness. Oops. I am in big trouble now. Evil may have honor, but fairness is not in the evil rule book. Fairness says you are still double dipping unless all games after Slitherin's stop date are removed from his record (until he start
we did beat g.r.o.s.s.!!!
Sorry, 106,146 of those points are invalid. Please save the partying until you EARN those points. Not that I am upset. It actually was pretty damn evil to get those "double dipping" Slitherin points. I have to respect the pure evil cheesiness of that move. But honor dictates earning the victory. And even evil has honor (in most cases, at least). Now, the points are going to come anyway, I surely know. GROSS will be eclipsed by the might of the Ev

The Evil Ones see us as passe. We are extinct as Threadzilla's ancestors in their opinion. Weak and old, yet we haven't crawled off to die or ended our own suffering. Hah! Weakened, maybe. Old, certainly. Old and still powerful. So unless someone has a time machine and rewrites history as easily as the Meta scoreboard, we're still their daddies. :p
It is just another empire for me to manipulate.
Hey! Isn't that Evil Gerakken's line? ;) Well, if someone like Aldar could sit around the Meta as a one-man band for months before gathering a flock, who is to say Darkspire could not do the same? As for the Evil Ones, I do not see them as being primarily afraid of competition; their main complaint seems to be more of someone is "poaching" their empire concept and thus treading too close to their turf.
A Spy Master with allergies
Ah-ah-ah CHOOO! *Gerakken gets chased around the graveyard by the residents in a Benny Hill like musical chase scene* Sorry! That was an accident. Down boys, girls, whatever-the-heck the third zombie back is! :SURPRISED:
But it's funny that you suggest that they should immediately surrender if under-powered.
Let's put it this way: if it is the difference between extorting a 150,000 BC peace treaty out of a pipsqueak you are going to invade next turn anyway or having them roll over immediately and surrender to someone, giving them only the planet and NO CASH, no nothing else, then I will suggest surrender and no cash. You would be surprised to hear the depths of cheesiness (in my opinion)
But if it were only once a year, and say, three products were added to Drengin.net each year (you hope and intend for it to be more, but just as an example consistent with the current pace), then I might have to wait eight months for the next yearly disk, to get access to software I've paid for the right to use
There is what Stardock obligates itself to do on paper, and to what lengths they go to behind the scenes to get something done. Stardock has sent disks to people b
But I ask you: have *you* ever come across something as bizarre as this? An empire/race willing to pay you such an astronomical sum? Do you think this is an exploit?
Sure. Though I never met them myself, I hear talk of the Draginol popping up and people being able to make them pay absolutely monstrous sums for an almost immediate peace treaty. Is it an exploit? In my book it is. The way I see it, if some minor race gets created (whether it be something dramatic like the
Let me guess - it'll become an Aldarian holiday - celebrated by drinking heavily and behaving badly....
Then we must do this the Roman (and, later, American) way: celebrate everyone else's holidays! Drinking is mandatory, but I will leave the level of debauchery to the discretion of those involved. In other news: I see you folks have traded in the baker's dozen for an even dozen. Next thing us in the Meta will know, you'll be throwing Apolyton further down the st

Sure, this next piece is a shogun-like scene set on a World War I trench line mixed in with Galciv references. What's so weird about that? :) All was quiet on the front line. The border into Fellowship territory loomed ahead, and the brave operatives of the Spec Forces were mentally preparing themselves for the Big Push over the trenchlines. One soldier in particular, Samurai Ben, is kneeling while holding his sheathed katana out in front of him, deep in meditation. Suddenly, he springs

The Euros are coming! The Euros are coming! (Still coming, that is.) Admiral Mayito, I think your Force powers might need some help after all that strain. A wave of the hand should throw everyone back, but it does not seem to be working well right now. Send in the clones! (And maybe some more Jedi Masters as well.)
GROSS isn't evil
We were evil long before you pups knew what evil was! Show respect for your elders... But the Evil Ones also earn respect for showing prowess and power, and thus being a worthy successor to the throne of Evilness if you should eclipse our glory. I will admit that a lot of the older pirates have mellowed out a bit. I mean, my evil days are like ancient history. Oh, and for the Dark Lord's question: SS Phantom, corvette class. (SS=Stealth ship) The

Well, the Euros are now rushing the Jedi, because they did lose someone big and are now vulnerable. Looks like the exact inverse of 6 moths ago, when the MWC was one of the empires rushing past a fading Euro empire. Now they are shooting back up again. Just take careful aim after restocking those missiles. The MWC is still very much in the race, just be sure you folks are running a marathon and not a sprint.
It's all about culture, values. Where are the accolades? What does the community worship? If the senior players and best performers set a certain standard, the whole community will follow. Are the players sophisticated enough to read past appearances and sort out the real deal from those projecting smoke and mirrors?
*Gerakken raises his glass in a silent toast to that.* :)
so who's EBZ? He sounds like your Messiah or something
More like a fallen angel. A prophet of darkness who, in all his alien-killing glory, refined a controversial game strategy. Unfortunately, a side effect of this strategy lead to many adepts and even the master himself tripping anti-cheat devices in the game, resulting in anomolous scores. Weary of fighting with the powers at Stardock who grew distressed at fixing the results of the strategy, and with a raging civil wa
I'm not sure whether you are misunderstanding, or are not talking to me but to others in general.
I was talking to everyone in general. I have been through several periods of ever-changing popular strategy in Galciv as a lot of folks kept following the road to Meta greatness. I understand that you are a maso player and the rules are a bit different up there, but most of us are (by choice or by skill) living in that other world of lower difficulties where things like tech

Rampant tech whoring leads to the Dark Side. That's all we need to know in my opinion. They really can't tell us where the lines are because cheesers would whore down to the wire. It serves as a common sense deterrent: do you need to go all out whoring soon and often to make the money and risk the flag, or do you go conservatively, just trying to keep up or make a moderate profit over a larger number of lesser deals all during the game? I was late coming into this tech whoring thing (yeah, old s
