Strange, I'm able to buy completely developed resource SBs for a mere 17k generally.
When dealing with large alien empires, I know the big boys will likely war with each other eventually and I will try to steal their starbases later during the fight. The smaller aliens who got a bum deal on the colony rush might get bought out. I did that with the Yor in my current game to keep them around longer. They got off to a bad start and were a one system wonder, so I bought their
Gerakken
They are quiet again. That is either very good or very bad. They must be resting up for another offensive. (Gerakken cautiously pads his way out of the graveyard.)
MISTAKE. How can you mistake aquiring the stench of goodness!
Well, if you Evil Ones get too blinded by glorious plans of conquest and depravity to see the good guys coming, you should have at least one other sense to fall back upon. LOL Sorry, I just couldn't resist. I'll just be sneaking back out before I "accidentally" fall into the super hagfish tanks...
I have been slowly working on my latest game. It's not done yet. In my last game, an event happened that flipped the Drengin from evil to good (never had that happen before!) and I was pretty amused. The same event happened again today in the new game. Nothing like setting five aliens to pure evil and have what should be one of the badder boys of the lot start getting peaceful, easy feelings. At least toward me, anyway. The other aliens didn't appreciate the now opposite aligned red menace going
Was trying not to get noticed..
Hide from Gerakken? Like one can hide from the Spymaster, Shadow of the Metaverse, when he is on the prowl. Like an invisible stalker, no one knows who he is watching or when, until it is too late. (Gerakken grips his head, struggling for self-control mumbling "Must resist evil!") Oops. Sorry about that. It is hard to keep one's humility in the Thread of Evil. As for bakka, what is the worry? There shou
!!! NEWSFLASH !!! The bat has been consorting with good for the past four games. The taint of neutrality has stained bakka! The batty one should commit vile, unspeakable deeds on a helpless galaxy or three posthaste. That is all for this Spymaster special report.
So our next mission is to take down an empire where we're outnumbered by overlords almost 12:1. It seems like we'd almost have an unfair advantage... but we do need a fight.
With superior firepower and training, being overwhelmed by numerous enemies matters little, until you run out of bullets. Then things get interesting... [Message Edited]
Remember that the site has moved.
You are moving from a simple bunker to a hardened bunker complex deep in a mountain? Smart choice. Those MWC folks tend to throw a lot of missiles when they get motivated, and you folks have been staying a little too close to them lately. And I cannot discount the Special Forces. They might try a nasty commando raid, but they will take a little time to gather intelligence on this new bunker first. Just watch out for them in the near futur
I finally submitted my first game in 5 months...Damn I suck..I had it on beginner and still barely won
Just do what you can. That is all anyone can ask. I am sure with a little practice you will improve.
Great to see feared Pirates rise again. Guess will have to start uping convoy security again
Be careful of pirates who fake their death. Lying low only means we are re-establishing our territory elsewhere. :)
Still not pure good.
It must be a curse. A curse on an undead. One evil game and you seem to have been tainted by it. There are three real old games of yours with no alignment tags. Maybe they are hurting your cause by being counted as neutrals?
Well, I tried to mercilessly tech whore in my most recent game with everyone at intelligent. I did not have the heart to continue taking the poor fools after swapping a lot of low level techs up to battleship over several trades during the early course of the game. I just researched almost everything myself after the battleship tech trades, relying on my bigger economy. I am just not ruthless enough. :notsure: I chalk it up to having a different philosophy when it comes to trades. My us
My muse approaches....
My muse ran off to a far away place that has no extradition treaty. A sad state of affairs, really. Maybe it will come back some day. For now, I'll just settle for my old standby: if you're not thinkin', your drinkin'. The barracks are a good a place as any to get a brew. :)
The Meta Spymaster sees his own agenda.
That be true. I just happen to be a free spirit sailing the stars, so a pirate's life is a good cover for my extra-curricular activities involving the whole Meta.
Let's talk evil. What makes someone evil?
Evil is a very relative term, unfortunately. Each society has its own levels of tolerance. If someone continually strays beyond those levels, they are "evil". What is considered saintly acts in one
but it was a beyond human win for you grekkan.. didn't realize the score penatly was Quite that high.... fully half or less than the points of a military victory...doesn't seem right.
No, it is not right. It just really gets me sometimes that people are encouraged to doctor their games to end a certain way due to the current score set up. I know that can be true of any game, trying to make it go one way or another to certain degrees, but it is really pronounced in the Me
More taxes paid. It looks like the old pirates have to clean house and show the Meta who still controls the space lanes! :HOT:
Besides, I am one of those pirates you folks seem to have problems with. Arr! Just that I am a friendly one. I'll cut you a good deal the next time I am in the neighborhood with my ship of ill-gotten goods. Buy low, sell dear. Loot far and wide, but be quick to hide. (Gerakken sneaks off to find some junk to sell to the Evil Ones.)
We are slowly eating away at the GROSS leadership, the scism has already struck once, maybe again.
The grouchy pirate captain is easy to handle. Don't get his blood pressure up and you won't get a bloody nose. Pirate leadership? Oh dear, I was already made the Ace of Spades on the old ANZAC's deck of most wanted several months ago. Do I get a spot on the Evil deck as well? :)
I like to watch.
Yes, watch them. Watch them well. (Gerakken carefully notes the spread of evil slipping its tendrils into a mostly good Meta.)
The metaverse overall score sure seems inflated compared to personal profile scores. This is presumably due the different rate of block decay?
Yes, I believe so. I got about a 15% difference in my results because of all those old blocks decaying.
oh and Gerakken... your opinion wouldn't have anything to do with that you don't want the Jedi's to recored the higher score would it???
Like score really matters to me. Heh. If it did, all those cultural victories in my record would have been re-engineered to military like some who have sold their Galciv soul for a wheel of cheese to play the Meta. Yep, there is that Gerakken fellow again. He seems utterly clueless to what really matters, the bottom line. ;)
I will come back, I swear! I'm still here! don't surrender G.R.O.S.S.!
See, there are some of the faithful still out there. You and HG321 prove that. May more come forth. Submit some games when you can. Surrender is still an alien word, and you know what we do to aliens: We conquer them! :HOT:
And, I'm not a goddess, I'm a witch.
Pray tell, would one think the faithful be concerned if there was but a difference? All the ladies in the Stardock pantheon are goddesses to us, no matter what their true stature be. Evil seductress or fair angel, it matters little.
Gerakken, espionage doesn't need cash every turn to keep running. Once you've reached a level of espionage, you can stop funding if you're set. As far as I know, all money beyond advanced put there is just wasted.
Oh, it is just a Spymaster thing. It would be out-of-character of me to neglect espionage altogether at the beginning of the game, dump a lot of money in toward the middle to get to advanced, and then stop funding it. But it also makes no sense to overfund somet
Gerakken slyly sneaks through the corn rows, carefully surveying various MWC missile silos. "They should be sending another shipment out soon. A pirate's got to make a living somehow. Knowing my luck, it would likely be the toxic waste barge." The Spymaster finds a good hiding spot and lies low for a while, watching, waiting, and hoping it is not garbage day. :) [Message Edited]
Giganitc Painful newset version. mitilary victory or beyond Human ( anyone know which gets a better score???)
Military will get the most points, but always going for the win that earns the most points leads to the Dark Side. You already know that though, X-Wing Sierra, because I see your record has plenty of culture and alliance wins. There is even one beyond human there already. Adding another one would look pretty neat, in my opinion. Records like yours break the monoto
