i think I made a mistake buying this game. The artificial tactics and strategy seem meaningless and are so far removed from air and fleet tactics as to be irrelevant. It looks like another remake of GalCiv2 without the benefit of creativity. A sure winner for the shelf ...

Update ... problem solved. I should have known better than read the email. It said go to stardock.com/support which only allowed me to download GalCiv2 and DL. By ignoring this instruction and goin to stardock central I could download Twilight of the Arnor under "my games". ... "/support" is so misleading ...

It already is proven. Check reply #10. What I'm affraid is AIs also collect taxes each turn the game is loaded. Since it gets so many things, that's quite possible. I just don't know how to test that. Unlikely. I know it doesn't get extra tax collection because the "AI" doesn't do taxes. That's a game engine element. Easy enough to prove - save a turn 1 game and reload

Creativity comes in handy not very frequently. Research is permanent. If you ever checked your debug file you'll find it accumulates to significant values by the end of the game. Add 1 point of luck and you'll see that increase, as well as more bonus tiles, etc...

Only now I realized why your starting strategy doesn't screw your economy. Not because your HW is producing 50% more revenue than mine. You don't get enough planets to go broke! Discussion over. BR, Iztok Sorry, but I have to agreed with Iztok on this one. When I play a Superbreeder race on suicidal I ALWAYS go for the +2 speed bonus so I can start with speed 4 constructors ...

Dear Wyndstar Your Altarian AAR was superb. It inspired me to go a little step further and derive a method for optimizing economy, industry, and moral into a unified whole, which - if successful - would allow players the ability to develope economic stategies. If you are a BAD player in some eyes for what you have done than I am a DEVIL for what I want ... which is to develope

Best soundtrack I've encountered was for Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines I agree wholeheartedly! Each music piece they used was really suitable for the scene. I remember that when my brother was playing the section with the haunted house, we were on the edges of our chairs. The music in the club was awesome as well, wouldn't you say? You got my vote!!! Too bad there out of business <img src="http://images.stard

Thanks guys ... I was beginning to think I was wasting my time doing this analysis. It takes me about a week to do a move this way. I had thought of doing a second write up on this game after its done ... a fantasy write up for the kids to enjoy

I think you went into WAYYYYYYYY too much detail. @_@ This AAR is for those who crunch numbers or want to. It is not necessary to play the game this way. The're many other strategies. I simply thought that after reading Wyndstar's Altarian AAR that some players may benefit from such indepth analysis - a carry over from playing USCF Chess I guess ... besides I hav

Postscript: Morale is missing the +20% bonus purchased at 3 ability points. Also I suspect the +20% bonus social production is not added to the 24mp in the SUMMARY since that would have resulted in 9iu (24mp*1.2=28.8mp;28.8mp*.33=9.504mp or 9iu). Does any one else experience this?
